00:00The vice president's security force or detail is up for complete relief or substitution.
00:05Hence, on such circumstances and conditions, it is in the best interest of the vice president
00:10to have a complete set of security people around her moving forward.
00:14PTV's Clazel Bardilla gets us up to speed on the latest developments.
00:21The personnel of the Vice Presidential Security Protection Group, or VPSPG,
00:26will be temporarily replaced. AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Browner Jr. clarified,
00:33this complies with a subpoena received from the Philippine National Police
00:37to investigate VPSPG personnel.
00:56They will be replaced by a new set of security personnel from the AFP
01:05and the PNP. Around 300 personnel are assigned to the VPSPG, but it is still being determined
01:12how many of the current staff, including its commander, are up for relief or replacement.
01:17Amid this, the AFP still considers the security of Vice President Sara Duterte a paramount concern.
01:27This could be the beginning of a chaos.
01:31Because of what the vice president said, that if something happens to her, she has actions to take
01:41against the president, the first lady, and the speaker of the house.
01:47So, we don't want that to happen. We might get in trouble.
01:53There might be other groups out there who will do something to our vice president
01:58so that whoever it is, we will still protect our vice president.
02:04Browner denied reports that he would lead the VPSPG.
02:09He clarified that it will remain under the Presidential Security Command.
02:13Meanwhile, the AFP chief refuted a statement of former President Rodrigo Duterte,
02:18urging the military to take action on the current developments.
02:22There is a call for the armed forces of the Philippines to intervene
02:28in what is happening to our politics here in our country.
02:35But we are not working on that.
02:38We cannot just air our grievances just freely, being members of the armed forces of the Philippines.
02:46If we want to do that, let's just resign, right?
02:50Let's take off our uniforms, and then that's the time you're free to do whatever you want to do.
02:56The soldiers responded emphasizing that the AFP is a professional organization,
03:01loyal to the constitution and the chain of command.
03:05We already know how to fight.
03:08They will not join us.
03:10They will not deceive us to join their personal enemies.
03:17Everybody is in one sync,
03:22music of being loyal to the constitution, to our chain of command.
03:27There's no such thing as division.
