00:00Good morning everyone, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press bringing you our top headlines today, that's Tuesday, December the 17th.
00:07First of all, we've got one which relates to builders being spotted at a historic Doncaster building.
00:17Denison House, Grade 2 listed, is at the heart of South Parade in the city centre and it has been boarded up for quite some time.
00:28Builders have been spotted at the Georgian property so it looks like there's something going on there.
00:35We're going to try and find out some more about it.
00:38It is quite a beautiful building but obviously it's come into disrepair in recent times.
00:44So you can read all about that this morning and see what's going on there.
00:49Then a couple of food hygiene ratings have done really well for us in the last 24 hours.
00:56Two which have received zero ratings which means urgent work is required to bring it up to standard.
01:06One of them in fact is a multinational chain.
01:11Like I say, both of them have got zeros so they will need to be pulling their socks up if they want to get up on the hygiene ratings there.
01:23Both of those stories are online at the moment.
01:27Then finally, something that the police sent out yesterday that's on top of our charts at the moment.
01:32A Doncaster sex offender who strangled a woman before attempting to rape her has been jailed after an investigation by South Yorkshire Police's Vulnerable People Unit.
01:42Francis O'Connor brutally assaulted his victim by grabbing her throat, putting his legs around her neck before trying to rape her as she slept.
01:51He's 30 years old.
01:53Thank goodness he's been brought to justice.
01:58All the information is on there from the court.
02:01He has been jailed for 11 and a half years with a four year extended licence period we've been told.
02:10So yeah, if you're interested in that please do have a read today.
