00:00The resupply mission in the West Philippine Sea was a success.
00:03The ship was delivered to the Philippine troops stationed in the Siamese-occupied island.
00:10Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, AFP,
00:14approved the ratification of the Reciprocal Access Agreement between the Philippines and Japan.
00:20This is what Patrick DeSouza reported.
00:22From December 3 to 14, the Armed Forces of the Philippines carried out the resupply or RORE mission in the West Philippine Sea.
00:33The troops stationed in the Siamese-occupied features of the Philippines,
00:39including Parola Island and Via Piscera Madre in Ayungin Shoal, were resupplied.
00:44The RORE mission was a success and there were no untoward incidents according to the Philippine Navy.
00:50This is contrary to the presence of the People's Liberation Army Navy ships of China and China Coast Guard, particularly in Ayungin Shoal.
00:59The highlight of our RORE was the delivery of the Noche Buena packages to our troops.
01:07Their morale is high and I would like to tell our countrymen,
01:11your soldiers will perform our mandate without any fanfare, over sea, land or air.
01:19Meanwhile, the AFP approved the ratification of the Senate of the Reciprocal Access Agreement between the Philippines and Japan,
01:29where 19 senators voted in favor of the resolution.
01:33The defense and military cooperation of the two countries is expected to deepen
01:38with the help of broader exercises that will strengthen our maritime domain awareness,
01:44intelligence sharing, and humanitarian assistance and disaster response.
01:49This will be included in the Philippine Visiting Forces Agreement in the United States and Australia.
01:56The activities of the Philippines are not new for Japan,
02:02where in a maritime cooperative activity in the West Philippine Sea this month,
02:08their Murasame-class destroyer ship JS Samidare also participated.
02:13This partnership will help the AFP address security challenges,
02:17especially in critical areas such as the West Philippine Sea,
02:21and further solidify our preparedness and resilience in safeguarding national sovereignty.
02:29The Department of National Defense thanked the lawmakers and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
02:36for their confidence that the so-called landmark agreement will be strengthened.
02:42The RAA is also expected to approve the National Diet of the Government of Japan,
02:48in accordance with their own legal process,
02:51to officially bind the two countries.
02:55Patrick de Azuz for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
