00:00The High Court of Kuala Lumpur acquitted Rosmah Mansur of 17 charges of money laundering and tax evasion against him without trial.
00:13Judge K. Munian said the charges against former Prime Minister Najib Razak's wife were breaches of law and order because they did not comply with criminal law.
00:27Munian said he used his original power and power as a judge to release the accused.
00:37Rosmah, 73 years old, was charged with 12 charges of money laundering, embezzling RM7.09 million, and 5 failed charges of disclosure of income to the State Reserve.
00:53Rosmah is still waiting for an appeal in the Court of Appeal in connection with the suspension of the embezzlement of RM1.25 billion in solar energy projects for rural schools in Sarawak.
01:04In September 2022, Rosmah was sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined RM970 million after he was found guilty of embezzlement in connection with the RM1.25 billion project.
