A son of the Al-Arqam movement’s founder and his 41-year-old wife were charged at the Syariah High Court in Melaka on Thursday (Dec 19) for allegedly conspiring and attempting to insult Islam.

00:00A son of the Al-Arqam Movement founder and his 41-year-old wife were charged at the Syariah
00:06High Court in Malacca on Thursday for allegedly conspiring and attempting to insult Islam.
00:1239-year-old Mohamed Athullah As'ari allegedly possessed three documents including a book
00:18and a framed image of his late father, Ashari Mohamed.
00:22The documents were seized during a raid at a residence in Al Orgadja on September 21
00:27this year.
00:28The court set bail of RM1,000 for Mohamed Athullah and RM3,000 for his wife, with the
00:35next hearing date fixed on February 13 next year.
00:38During the proceedings, the court deferred the charges against two other sons of As'ari,
00:43aged 42 and 45, as well as their wives, to February 13 next year.
