Jerry Jones put an end to the Micah Parsons trade rumors when he joined Shan and Bobby on Tuesday. Although Jones discredited the rumors, Bobby believes the idea of trading Parsons was likely a consideration at some point due to the team’s tight salary cap situation. Unless, Jones and the Cowboys are more comfortable about navigating the salary cap then they’re letting on.

00:00The Mike McCarthy and Mike Zimmer being tied together. That's really probably the lead
00:19news topic. Yeah. And we mentioned it yesterday. I thought he was going to, I thought he was
00:24just going to tell him like, no, not necessarily, or just kind of keep things open. But I mean,
00:28it says, yeah, if Mike's back, then Zimmer's back, or it would seem to indicate if Mike's
00:33back, then Zimmer's back. If Mike's not back, then we're probably resetting a defensive
00:36coordinator. But the other thing I had reflected on afterwards was the fact that I think Jerry
00:41accidentally tattled on himself a little bit. You know, when you hear somebody say something
00:49and they give you, they say something out of a context that it's like, huh, that clicks
00:53together and then kind of runs counter to something you said over here.
00:57And now I'm wondering what, what you're talking about. So when they talk about the Micah Parsons
01:01thing, and I understand they're, they're, they're trying to downplay it after it kind
01:05of blew up after it got asked about in the locker room and Mike had the reaction did,
01:09but he says that that's never been uttered here in the walls of the star. Nobody's ever
01:14even considered moving on from Micah Parsons. Never not once. So if things are as tight
01:20financially as he spent a lot of the interview talking about, and as much as Steven has laid
01:24the groundwork for, then are we really to believe that nobody, there wasn't any, but
01:30there's not anybody in that building who has suggested guys, we might have to look at trading
01:36him or at least, Hey, got to throw this idea out there that this needs to be an option
01:40we talk about because that's a lot of money there.
01:42Show of hands. Are we, are we all cool with keeping them around? Okay. Even if it's like
01:45that, I know there's no chance they haven't done their due diligence on the idea of do
01:50we pay a giant amount of money here? He always tells us, man, when you're writing that big
01:55check, you better be sure about it. You better do those things. So for him to say, it's never
01:58been uttered, that tells me one or two things. Either he's lying about that, not like, you
02:03know what I'm saying? He's fibbing about, yes. Nobody's ever said that. Or the reality
02:07is they are more comfortable navigating the salary cap and the constraints they have right
02:12now than they're leading on and that they don't think it's as tight and they do have
02:15a firm handle on.
02:17I know exactly where to navigate around this financially. He has to say publicly, there's
02:22your answer. And you know that he has to say, he's not going to say, yeah, you know, you
02:26those types of decisions, you always go back and forth. Although sometimes in these negotiations
02:30with their bigger players, he will insult them. Yeah, he did with Dak a lot. Zeke, Zeke
02:35who CD lamb. There's normally an insult. And I figured Stevens was a negotiating ploy to
02:41throw it out there first, because I think of all the guys who value that logo, that
02:46star that you see on every truck and every business that steals it and doesn't give the
02:49Cowboys their copyright and trademark infringement costs.
02:53Micah Parsons, I think, loves the idea and thought of being a Dallas. This is just a
02:57guess. No, I agree. He loves the thought of being a Dallas Cowboy even more so. He would
03:02be scared not to play here.
