00:00Good morning from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:04This is the current time.
00:06Today is Monday, December 23, 2024.
00:10And in our latest satellite images, we can see that this storm called Surumina
00:15is moving away from the Kalayaan Islands.
00:18According to this, it is 165 kilometers away from Pag-asa Island, Kalayaan, and Palawan.
00:26We expect that this storm will head to a part of Vietnam
00:30and there will be no direct effect to any part of our country.
00:34Aside from this trough or the clouds,
00:37we can see that there are clouds here in Palawan.
00:39This will bring rains, there will be flurries, especially in the part of Palawan,
00:45particularly here in the northern part of Palawan.
00:49Meanwhile, the shear line or the hot and cold wind will still bring rains
00:54in a large part of Visayas, especially in eastern Visayas,
00:59which is now experiencing moderate to heavy up to intense rain.
01:03So be careful of the possibility of sudden floods or flash floods
01:07and landslides.
01:09It will also bring rains in a large part of the Bicol region,
01:12including the southern part of Mimaropa, Calabarzon, as well as in the area of Aurora.
01:19We also expect that due to the effect of the northeast monsoon or cold wind,
01:23the sky will be cloudy in a large part of the Cagayan Valley region, Cordillera,
01:29as well as here in the area of Nueva Ecija, along with the area of Bulacan, Rizal,
01:35and also here in Manila.
01:37We may experience a cloudy sky with mild rains.
01:41In the southern part of our country, especially here in the Mindanao area
01:46and in the area of Ilocos region, generally we have fair weather,
01:49but it is still possible that there will be isolated or mild rains in the Luzon
01:54while there are landslides in the area of Mindanao.
01:58Aside from this, we are not monitoring any low-pressure areas
02:04or any types of floods inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
02:07So it is possible that by the time of Christmas,
02:11there will be no more floods inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
02:16And this is where the weather will be in the Luzon.
02:19We will see a high chance of rains in a large part of the Bicol region
02:24along with Calabarzon and a large part of Mimaropa,
02:27along with the Shire Line.
02:29While we will experience mild rains and cloudy skies,
02:33a large part of the Cagayan Valley region, as well as Cordillera,
02:37along with the provinces in Central Luzon,
02:39particularly in the part of Aurora and Nueva Ecija.
02:44And it is also possible that here in Manila,
02:46there will be cloudy skies with mild rains.
02:49In the southern part of Luzon, particularly in the Ilocos region,
02:53we will experience generally fair weather,
02:56but it is still possible that there will be isolated light rains.

03:32which we call Romina.
03:34The water temperature in Calayaan Islands is 25 to 29 degrees Celsius.
03:37In Puerto Princesa, it is 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:41In a large part of Visayas, we will experience cloudy skies with rains,
03:45especially in the eastern part of Visayas,
03:49where the shear line is directly affected
03:51and it will bring moderate to heavy up to intense rain.
03:55The water temperature in Iloilo is 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:59In Cebu, it is 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
04:01While in Tacloban, it is 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.

04:43especially in Isabela and in a large part of Mimaropa.
04:48So be careful, especially in the eastern part of Visayas,
04:51especially in the last few days of rain in the upper reaches of the Shire Line.
04:58When Christmas comes, we are still expecting heavy rains in a large part of Bicol Region
05:04as well as in Quezon Province and in a large part of Mimaropa.
05:07It is possible that the effect of the Shire Line will also affect areas in Central Luzon
05:12and also here in the Cagayan Valley Region.
05:15So be careful, especially in the upper reaches of the Shire Line
05:20and in a large part of the eastern section of Luzon and also in a large part of Visayas.
05:29Meanwhile, because of Amihan, we have high gale warnings,
05:33especially in areas of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.
05:39Here, we can see that these are the areas where the sea will be unstable,
05:43so it is dangerous to sail.
05:45Even the smallest boats in our country, because the sea will be unstable,
05:52it will still be affected by the strong winds.
