Light rains to persist over parts of the Philippines

00:00We are not monitoring any typhoons or low-pressure areas inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility

00:08that could possibly affect our country within the next five days.

00:13But if we can see, we have two weather systems that are currently affecting our country

00:19and we are also expecting that it will bring rains.

00:22First is the Northeast Monsoon or Hanging Amihan that is continuing to spread here in Meluson.

00:28Meanwhile, the easterlies or the hot and misty winds coming from the Pacific Ocean

00:35are coming here in the whole of Visayas and Mindanao.

00:40For our weather today, the Northeast Monsoon will bring a large part of Meluson.

00:47It will also experience scattered rains.

00:51This is due to the Hanging Amihan.

00:53We are still hoping that it will continue to bring rains here in the Bicol Region,

00:59Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa, and Quezon.

01:05This is due to the Northeast Monsoon.

01:07For Metro Manila, we are hoping that we will experience a part of it

01:12until the isolated light rains subside.

01:17For our weather here in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,

01:23if we can see here in Tacloban or particularly in Eastern Visayas,

01:28they will experience a heavy downpour with scattered rains.

01:33This is due to the Easterlies.

01:35But if we can see, for the isolated part here in Palawan,

01:39the isolated part of Visayas, and the whole of Mindanao,

01:43they will expect a clear weather.

01:46But we are also hoping for light rains in the afternoon and evening due to localized thunderstorms.

01:55Earlier at 5am, we issued a weather advisory

01:58and we are hoping that the Northeast Monsoon will bring 50 to 100 mm of rain

02:06or moderate to heavy rains here in Quezon,

02:10Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Sorsogon.

02:14For tomorrow, like the Northeast Monsoon and Shirline,

02:18we are hoping for moderate to heavy rains here in Aurora and Quezon.

02:24For Thursday, January 16, we are hoping for moderate to heavy 50 to 100 mm of rain

02:31here in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, like the Northeast Monsoon and Shirline.

02:38We have raised the gale warning here in the coastal waters of Batanes,

02:42Cagayan, along with Baboyan Islands, Isabela, Aurora, Northern Quezon,

02:47along with the Eastern Coast of Polilio Islands, Camarines Norte,

02:52Northern Coast of Camarines Sur, Northern and Eastern Coast of Catanduanes,

02:57Eastern Coast of Albay, Eastern Coast of Sorsogon,

03:00Northern and Eastern Coast of Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.

03:05That is why we are warning our fellow countrymen

03:08that it is dangerous to move here in the coastal waters.
