00:00Precipitation from the shear line pretty much drenched and drowned places in northern and eastern summer

00:13Meanwhile, landslides hit stretched off the Bontoc-Maasan Road in Saturn, Leyte
00:19that Philippine Information Agency, Eastern Visayas correspondent, Ray Anarinto, fills us in with more on this report.
00:28Large parts of eastern Visayas, particularly in the provinces of northern and eastern summer, experienced flooding
00:35due to the shear line and northeast monsoon affecting the entire region.
00:39In the upstream municipality of Hipapad, eastern summer, residents experienced flooding up to rooftop level
00:46starting at 1 a.m. today due to continuous rains over the past three days.
00:51The municipalities of Maslog, Dolores, Canavid, Arteche, and Taft in eastern summer
00:57as well as Katarman, Las Navas, and Katubig in northern summer were also flooded.
01:02Several main roads connecting the towns of Katarman and Lauang as well as Katarman and Calbayog City
01:08were temporarily impassable due to flooding and landslides.
01:12The Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office also reported landslides
01:16along the Bontoc-Maasan City Road in southern Leyte.
01:20The Buray-Taft Road section in eastern summer was also impassable.
01:51We have continuous monitoring of weather updates, warnings, and advisories and dissemination to LGUs
01:58through their NDRRNOS and other agencies concerned.
02:03The Department of Social Welfare and Development, eastern Visayas, and the affected LGUs
02:08continue their monitoring and coordination efforts.
02:11According to DSWD Regional Director Grace Subong, the agency has over P111 million pesos in standby funds.
02:19This includes over 81,000 family food packs and 35,600 non-food items
02:25ready to be distributed to those affected by the flooding in the region.
