00:00The PNP is beefing up its Yuletide and Christmas season security force with 37,000 more cops

00:06on the streets and key locations in the mega city.

00:09And since the police cannot do it alone, the public is reminded with simple tips to keep

00:16them from the crosshairs and the predations of evil and criminal minds, such as keeping

00:22things down low and not putting the status of your home on social media.

00:32To ensure a peaceful celebration of Christmas and New Year, the PNP has deployed around

00:3637,000 police personnel nationwide for security.

00:39However, PNP Public Information Office Chief Police Brigadier General Gene Fajardo stated

00:44the National Police Force has not monitored any threats for the upcoming long holiday

00:49thus far.

00:51In addition to crowded areas, the PNP has also deployed personnel in barangays to patrol

00:55subdivisions against burglary gangs and common thieves.

00:59The PNP reminds the public to be vigilant in crowded areas which are often targeted

01:04by criminals.

01:16For commuters using public transport, the PNP advises heading to terminals early to

01:21avoid the hassle and inconvenience of overcrowding or congestion.

01:25Everyone should keep an eye on their belongings to avoid being preyed upon by opportunistic

01:30individuals.

01:31Avoid wearing expensive jewelry or displaying costly gadgets while in crowded places.

01:36For those traveling in private vehicles, ensure your automobiles are in good condition by

01:41observing the blow baguettes and prepping yourself for a long road trip.

01:45The PNP also advises travelers to extend their patience a little more, especially during

01:50gridlock or heavy traffic on the roads.

01:53For those going on vacation, avoid posting at-the-moment updates on social media to prevent

01:58cybercriminals from getting wind of the status of your homes.
