Bengals QB Joe Burrow on Cadence Being Weapon
Transcript
00:00Keynes is a big weapon.
00:03I guess the guy that comes to mind would be Aaron Rodgers.
00:06He's been known to get free plays for his whole career.
00:11And I think that's something that I'd like to be known by too.
00:14I think I've taken a step in that department this year.
00:18Do you listen to him?
00:18Do you like actually listen to him?
00:19No, I don't think you do it that way.
00:23But it's not just the quarterback involved, it's everybody.
00:29Understanding each play and what we want to do with the cadence on each play.
00:33And when making fake calls, demeanor,
00:40a lot of different things go into it when you're changing up the cadence.
00:43Is that kind of maybe part of just the craftsmanship of being a great quarterback?
00:46Do they have this extra detail that makes really great quarterbacks?
00:49I think the more football you play,
00:53the more you start to focus on little things like that that can really make a difference.
00:57How much do you care about stuff like that?
00:58Like all the little craftsmanship things that go towards being a truly great-
01:02I think that's what separates the great players from the good players.
01:05How old were you when you realized that cadence could be a weapon?
01:08I don't know.
01:11You watch it growing up and you see people do it like Aaron.
