00:16This drug-sniffing dog was sitting next to two Balikbayan boxes by the PNP Drug Enforcement Group of Pilig.

00:22Signs that the boxes were not clothes, cans or toys.

00:28More than 20,000 grams of high-grade marijuana were found.

00:32According to the PNP Drug Enforcement Group of Pilig, the boxes that arrived in the country this month came from Ontario, Canada.

00:37But according to the forwarding company that received the boxes,

00:41the boxes were red-flagged, recycled and unclaimed.

00:45The smell of drugs was strong, so they were in doubt and called the authorities.

00:51The group took advantage of the Christmas rush and the addition of Balikbayan boxes

00:56to sell illegal drugs.

00:58The local market of Cush, cannabis or marijuana is having a hard time.

01:03Our police force in the Cordillera region is limited,

01:06so they outsourced coming from other countries,

01:10especially countries that legalized or decriminalized the use of cannabis or Cush.

01:17The value of Cush is estimated to be around Php 30 million,
