00:00In Brazil, the authorities have issued a contamination warning for all rivers in the country due

00:05to the concentration of pesticides found in such waters.

00:10On December 22, the collapse of a river bridge between the states of Maranao and Tocantins

00:17caused the fall of two trucks carrying chemical products, including herbicides and sulfuric

00:21acid, which led to the contamination of the water.

00:25After conducting a study to check the quality of river waters, they found significant amounts

00:30of a highly toxic chemical herbicide in rivers nationwide, a compound that had been used

00:36by the United States during the war in Vietnam.

00:39The authorities are alerting the population about the risk of coming into contact with

00:44river water throughout the country and to refrain from doing so.

00:49And in the United States, at least one person died and four others were injured after five

00:57tornadoes hit the state of Texas.

01:00Authorities also reported structural damage to homes and other buildings as a consequence

01:04of this weather phenomenon.

01:06The National Meteorological Service confirmed the likelihood of further tornadoes, warning
