00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Marco Britannia.
00:03It's a cold and frosty start across many parts of the UK. We've got some ice in places too,
00:07particularly across central and northern parts of the UK, with showers also feeding in across
00:11Scotland and Northern Ireland. As we go through the day, it's a case of sunshine and showers.
00:16Showers again mainly reserved for the north of Scotland, feeding in across Northern Ireland,
00:19but also some feeding down through the Irish Sea and down some North Sea coasts at times
00:23as well. So it'll be inland areas seeing the best of the sunshine this afternoon, particularly
00:26across inland parts of England and Wales. Wherever you are, it's staying chilly, temperatures
00:30generally no better than low to mid-single figures, perhaps peaking down towards the
00:34south-west at 6 or 7 Celsius. 6 in Plymouth is 43 in Fahrenheit. But if we add on the
00:39effect of that cold north-to-north-westerly wind, feeling more like freezing if not below
00:43out and about, and towards the north-east of Scotland, feeling more like minus 5 to
00:46minus 8 Celsius. So you'll certainly need to wrap up warm if you're heading out and
00:49about this afternoon. As we go into the evening and into the overnight period, those showers
00:54towards the north and north-west become even more widespread, feeding down across Scotland
00:58into Northern England and Northern Ireland, again giving sleet and snow for many here.
01:02So it'll be down towards the south and south-east seeing the best of the clear weather, but
01:05once again a widespread frost forming by Friday, ice in places, temperatures in towns and cities
01:09again below freezing, and across some rural parts of Scotland could be down to minus 10
01:13Celsius. Friday again will be a day of sunshine and showers, but the showers quite widespread
01:17towards the north and north-west of the UK, still giving sleet and snow in places, so
01:21the best of the sunshine once again down towards the far south and south-east of England
01:25and Wales. But again, despite any sunshine, it's going to be a cold day, temperatures
01:28widely in low to mid-single figures, again perhaps peaking at 6 Celsius down towards
01:32the south-west, that's 43 in Fahrenheit. As we go into the weekend, things will be
01:36turning even more unsettled. We'll see some outbreaks of rain and possibly some snow moving
01:40in from the south-west, so some disruption is possible. That's pretty much it for me,
01:44but of course you can catch me into the Met Office forecasts by following us on social
01:47media and by subscribing to our YouTube channel. I'll see you soon, take care for now, bye-bye.
