00:00You know...
00:03Morons.
00:06Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today
00:08we're counting down our picks for the movies where the stacked cast could barely keep it together for the cameras.
00:14Did you ever find Bugs Bunny attractive when he'd put on a dress and play a girl bunny?
00:20No.
00:22Number 10 Fast and Furious 6. We appreciate your help. Thank you so much.
00:36Dangerous stunts, explosions and high-speed driving don't leave much room for spontaneity.
00:41In fact, things on the sets of the Fast and Furious movies are tightly controlled due to the precision and volatile
00:48volatile conditions that arise from such fantastic stunt work.
00:52That doesn't mean the cast doesn't have fun in the less action-oriented scenes.
00:57This back-and-forth between Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson in the sixth entry ended
01:01up going viral.
01:03Gibson's off-handed joke about baby oil apparently wasn't supposed to have a comeback.
01:15Co-star Ludacris suggested a comeback for Johnson that wasn't in the script, and the
01:19moment ended up being so funny, his spit-take was genuine.
01:23Johnson's propensity to improvise was also on display in The Fate of the Furious.
01:379.
01:38American Pie
01:47This raunchy comedy about four teenage boys looking to lose their virginity before they
01:51graduate had its fair share of crazy comedic set-pieces.
01:55In one scene, for example, actor Eddie K. Thomas had to simulate an embarrassing gastrointestinal
02:01event.
02:02Sure, it may be adolescent humor, but the sound of a gas attack is funny no matter how
02:07old you are.
02:11If you look closely, Thomas' red-faced, convulsing act does feature a few quick character-breaking
02:17smirks.
02:18Given how young the cast was, it's not surprising how much everyone on set was always cracking
02:23up.
02:248.
02:32This is the End
02:33Featuring some of the era's most famous comedians and actors, this crazy ensemble
02:45movie pits Jay Baruchel, Seth Rogen, James Franco, and Craig Robinson against the apocalypse.
02:51Playing heightened versions of themselves, it's safe to say they brought a lot of their
02:56personal senses of humor to the roles.
02:58The chaos levels are off the charts.
03:01Script changes, spontaneous humor, and genuinely deranged humor seem to be the vibe on set,
03:07with changes being made on the spur of the moment.
03:17Needless to say, this made the jokes that much harder to prepare for.
03:21One of Rogen's breaks actually made it into a scene where James Franco and Danny McBride
03:26are fighting over common courtesy regarding certain bodily emissions.
03:317.
03:32Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
03:50This wild political satire involves a British RAF officer, a wimpy American president, and
03:55a former Nazi caught up in the imminent detonation of nuclear warheads.
03:59Even wilder than the premise is that those three characters are played by the same actor.
04:04Peter Sellers' gifts for mimicry, accents, and generally unhinged humor came in handy
04:10here.
04:15Director Stanley Kubrick encouraged the actor to improvise, which made it hard for his fellow
04:20performers and the crew to keep holding a straight face around him.
04:24The actor who plays the Russian ambassador can be seen holding back a laugh during Sellers'
04:29scene as the eccentric title character, whose arm seems to have a mind of its own.
04:406.
04:44Star Wars Episode IV, A New Hope
04:46Yes, it became an insanely successful blockbuster.
04:56However, the predominantly young cast of the first Star Wars had no reason to believe
05:01that audiences could take words like Jedi and Wookiee seriously.
05:05In fact, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and even veteran actor Alec Guinness
05:11could barely get some of the words out without laughing.
05:22But their on-set antics had another purpose.
05:25The actors noticed how depressed and stressed out writer-director George Lucas was and just
05:30wanted to cheer him up.
05:31According to Mark Hamill, that seemed to annoy him more than anything else.
05:415.
05:44Anchorman 2, The Legend Continues
05:54Sharing a scene with Will Ferrell sounds like a constant try-not-to-laugh test.
05:58The first Anchorman movie had its fair share of antics that ended up on the cutting room
06:03floor.
06:10But things just devolved on the set of the 2013 sequel.
06:14From Ferrell's increasingly zany catchphrases to new addition Kristen Wiig's hysterical
06:19outtakes with Steve Carell, the set looks like an experiment designed to break any actor's
06:25concentration.
06:26An early scene sees Christina Applegate breaking character, as Ferrell in-character as Ron
06:31Burgundy screams through a vocal warm-up.
06:34Paul Rudd recalled a scene he couldn't get through because of Ferrell's obscene improvisations
06:38about a Mrs. Butterworth bottle.
06:444.
06:47A Fish Called Wanda
06:58In this British film about bumbling criminals, Jamie Lee Curtis plays a backstabbing femme
07:04fatale trying to swindle her lover, an idiotic sociopath played by Kevin Kline, out of his
07:09share of the loot.
07:11Curtis says she ruined so many of Kline's takes that she wouldn't be surprised if he
07:15harbored some resentment toward her.
07:18During their love scene, which is one of the most ridiculous love scenes ever shot, she
07:22had to have a pillow over her face to keep from wrecking the take.
07:25There's even a scene on a dock where she's supposed to be mad, but you can see her start
07:30to break.
07:353.
07:39The 40-Year-Old Virgin
07:45While Steve Carell's title character is the protagonist, this is such a stacked cast of
07:50comedic talent that it feels like an ensemble piece.
07:54Director Judd Apatow rarely called cut on set.
07:57The actors were given free reign to improvise, which led to a lot of hilarious footage that
08:02would never get used.
08:04But the famed chest-waxing scene was where everyone had a hard time keeping it together.
08:14Equal parts funny and horrifying, actor Steve Carell really did have his chest waxed in
08:19front of the camera.
08:20Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen stayed while co-star Romany Malco fled the room.
08:25As the torturous scene goes on, Rudd and Rogen's mischievous smiles and strained laughter seem
08:31genuine.
08:322.
08:33Monty Python's Life of Brian
08:44Keeping a straight face is even harder when everyone else gets to laugh.
08:54A classic scene from Life of Brian sees Michael Palin in character as Pontius Pilate questioning
08:59a group of centurions as to why they find his friend's name funny.
09:03The friend's name, of course, is very, very close to something hilariously vulgar.
09:20It was especially hard to shoot because while the actors playing the centurions were supposed
09:24to laugh, Palin and Graham Chapman couldn't laugh without ruining the scene.
09:28So, while the rest of the actors around them were able to release a little tension, they
09:33had to hold it all in.

09:59The Usual Suspect
10:07A movie about murder, mayhem, and one warped criminal mastermind may not seem like a laughing
10:13matter, but tell that to the cast of The Usual Suspect.
10:16During the iconic scene that jumpstarts all the action, actors Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne,
10:22Benicio Del Toro, Kevin Pollak, and Stephen Baldwin stand in a police lineup.
10:28When Del Toro steps forward to say his line, the actors are already laughing.
10:39Apparently, it was because the actor had passed gas just before the take.
10:44Actor Gabriel Byrne later said Bryan Singer kept the footage because it was a genuine
10:49moment of camaraderie between the men.
10:56What do you like most about actors breaking up on film?
10:59And who does it best?
11:01Tell us in the comments.
