00:00According to the PNA, the Philippine National Police will launch a nationwide gun ban from January 12 as a preparation for the upcoming election period for the midterm polls this year.
00:15Because of this, they will launch checkpoint operations in strategic locations as part of their efforts to ensure the safety of every Filipino.
00:25According to the PNP, the general rule is that only bonafide police, military, and members of the government law enforcement agency are allowed to wear a complete uniform and are on duty.
00:36Firearms are allowed to be carried during the election.
00:40They also have permission to be exempt from the prohibition of firearms by the Commission on Elections.
00:48According to the PNP, they can apply for a certificate of authority from the Committee on Ban on Firearms and Security Concerns of the Comedic.
00:58Meanwhile, the PNP will continue to crack down on private armed groups and use firearms before the midterm elections in May.
