00:00I mean, Ashutosh, you didn't know, I'm super excited, yeah, that's the one word, one sentence
00:12I can say. Okay, and Ishwant? Thrilled, absolutely thrilled, but it's going to be worth the
00:18while, worth the wait. Yeah, and Bholpanna? Eager anticipation.
00:23One should not think about that, you know, I really think we are just the medium and
00:35through which some things happen, so I don't take myself that seriously, or the success
00:39or failure that seriously. On a personal level, and you know, as an actor,
00:49let's say we've got a great rapport, so that's always a 10 on 10, it's been from the first
00:54day to the last day of both the seasons. You know, in terms of the dynamic of the relation,
01:00in terms of the story, it changes, of course, because now, there is a sort of a, you know,
01:08hierarchy that, and a certain equation between a senior and a junior officer. It is not the
01:16kind of thing that, you know, people with, when the rank changes, I mean, things definitely
01:21change. So, you're going to see some, I mean, that's definitely, there's a big difference
01:27there. But because I'm a senior officer now, and an IPS, so, but what doesn't change, what
01:35remains, I think is, or what I think it'll be interesting to see for the audience is
01:40the human equation, you know, which is always,
01:48that only grows, I mean, people grow fond of each other, you know, the bond that is there.
01:54So, how that dynamic pans out is something which I was very excited about, and I think
01:59the audience is going to love it, you know, the way that's kind of unravelled.
02:04What's your take on Hathi Ram?
02:09As you rightly said, keeping in mind that she's the emotional anchor for Hathi Ram,
02:16and also, even in the first season, the sense of safety and emotion that you feel through
02:27Hathi Ram's family is really the only space where there is a family interface. So, that's
02:36also present in the second season. But for me, the checkmarks were to make sure that
02:41Renu is Renu as she were five years ago, but also how time would have changed the dynamic
02:49like it does for everyone. In their own relationship, there are some minor changes,
02:54because no relationship remains the same today, and then the same tomorrow. Their son is now older,
03:01there's a different dynamic there as well. And I think there has been a natural progression
03:08in their relationship. So, I have tried under Avinash's able guidance to be able to keep that
03:15in mind. And ultimately, as we were, you know, we were talking earlier as well, as actors,
03:21you are exercising the director's vision. So, to be on the same page as the director in terms
03:26of what the director wants is of primary importance, and how he sees it. I may see
03:31Renu in a particular way, but it's got to match the vision of the writer and the director.
03:41We just loved it. Like, more than challenges, I feel like we had a great time, great people,
03:47we really created something amazing with great people out there, you know,
03:53main things were like, Northeast doesn't have that kind of an industry like which we,
03:59you know, so, so casting was a bit of a tussle, but Nikita Grover and Casting Bay,
04:03they have done such amazing job and you'll see some amazing cast throughout the show, you know.
04:09So, for that, you've asked me a question that will require me to go on and on. But I think it's
04:15just, I think, see, there's the basic thing, I think what really, it's like a multi-pronged
04:23approach, you know, my collaboration, direction, jamming with the director. We have workshops,
04:30we have discussion about the character and stuff.
04:32I'd like to add how, you know, my personal, like, love for working with Avinash,
04:37how that is kind of unique and special in a way, we added to it later. But the thing is, for me,
04:43I think the one common thing is that I kind of take the script and I kind of believe in,
04:49you know, studying it, you know, like you really study the script.
04:55You work with everybody, you know, you work with the director, you know,
04:59you really study the script. You work with it inside out, because there's this unadulterated
05:04relation between the actor and the writing, you know, it's like, it's giving you cues,
05:08it's telling you, it's, it will bring out things from within you. And then you feel like, okay,
05:16this is what I can give to the character. And then it's going to sometimes send you to places,
05:20like, for instance, you know, like, while leading a scene, I may have felt that, you know what,
05:26I need to go to a police station to understand how this pans out. And that would have motivated
05:31me to walk out of my room, because it's an effort. You know, when I can imagine,
05:36why do I have to actually go there. But some magic happens when you go to the real place.
05:42It's like things are unfolding in front of me, you understand.
05:46Even if you know the exact thing doesn't happen, you sometimes get something.
05:50The essence of it.
05:51Yeah, an essence of it. And it could just, it could happen just in a very fleeting moment,
05:59time space, you know, that space, that environment.
06:03Or, you know, you might want to pick up a book and read about a particular thing.
06:08And that too, you know, gives you something. So I think it's just that, that the thing of
06:18being by yourself, and studying it really well, and just being with it again and again,
06:24as much as I mean, sometimes you get a week, sometimes you get six months.
06:40I think the first time round, it, we discussed Renu quite a bit, like what would Renu do?
06:46We defined certain traits.
06:55So we defined that the first time round. And I think,
07:02that became really the foundation of how we approached her in season two.
07:07Well, I think this time she's more independent as well. I think,
07:20in every relationship between a husband and a wife, in siblings, in parents, there's growth.
07:26And I think she is more assertive in this season, while still being the Renu that she was.
07:50So to answer your question, was it a day or was it two?
07:52I think it's difficult for me to define the time frame, but
08:13I think it just helps you get back to it. But I was a bit, a bit concerned. I would keep asking for the first
08:22couple of scenes, are we there yet? Have we missed something? So that anxiety was there in my mind,
08:52For that, I leaned a lot on Sudeep and Avinash. And I was sort of really counting on them to point out the flaws.
09:00So that was a cause of concern for me. I mean, the lack of consistency in the performance before and after.
