00:00Maybe I'm wrong, but this was not a name that at least I saw as a potential firing, but
00:06I guess the Titans' ownership, it has to be, looked at this as though, hey, we have the
00:10number one pick.
00:11We don't trust this guy to make the pick, I'm sorry to say, but that's got to be it
00:14for me.
00:15Yeah, that has to be their mentality, but this is a surprise, I would say.
00:20I mean, there was four years left on his contract, he'd only been there two years, and he really
00:25oversaw a big transition within the organization this past year, with Mike Vrabel being fired,
00:30Brian Callahan being brought on, and he really overhauled that roster.
00:35He spent a lot of money in free agency to get guys like Tony Pollard and Chidobe Owuzie
00:40and Lloyd Cushenberry to try to strengthen some of these teams' weaknesses, and of course
00:44Calvin Ridley they got, but things just didn't pan out this year.
00:49I think the team probably was expecting more under first-year coach Brian Callahan.
00:54I'm not sure that the ownership group maybe realized exactly what they had in Mike Vrabel,
00:59a coach who consistently got more out of his roster than maybe any other coach in the NFL
01:05would have, so I kind of think that bringing Callahan in, a less-proven coach, there was
01:11always going to be some sort of pullback in terms of record, and the Titans apparently
01:17are blaming Ran Carthon for that.
01:19I don't know that he did a bad job of assembling the talent, I think it was just, yeah, the
01:22first-year head coach, he didn't have a good quarterback.
01:24It's usually a recipe for disaster in the NFL.
