00:00In Malaysia, a surge in food prices and housing costs has stretched household budgets thin,

00:07leaving many struggling to make ends meet.

00:10As the cost of living climbs, the question remains, how is the government addressing

00:14this pressing issue?

00:16The government has come up with a dual strategy, combining immediate relief measures to ease

00:20financial burdens and long-term reforms to boost economic mobility.

00:25On one hand, Puja Jaya has rolled out cash handout programs such as the Sumbangan Tunai

00:29Rahmat and Sumbangan Asas Rahmat Aid Schemes.

00:33On the other, the government is also focusing on policies that tie income growth to productivity,

00:38such as enhancing in-demand skills in the workforce.

00:42It has allocated RM7.5 billion for TVET programs and introduced a progressive wage policy,

00:48which encourages businesses to offer competitive wages that reflect skill and performance.

00:53Additionally, the Green Technology Financing Scheme, designed to lower operational expenditure,

00:58offers government guarantees and interest rate rebates to companies adopting green technology.

01:03There are so many more initiatives the government has implemented to boost productivity and

01:08curb rising costs, but the true test lies in its ability to translate these ambitious

01:12plans into tangible benefits for the rakyat.
