00:00The Chicago Bears had their request to interview Mike McCarthy denied yesterday by the Dallas
00:06Cowboys.
00:07It did not seem likely, DRS, the Bears would even hire McCarthy, even if they got permission
00:12for the interview, and again, they could wait just about six days when his contract officially
00:17expires in Dallas.
00:20So it's not so much about Chicago's point of view, DRS.
00:23For me, it's about Dallas.
00:25Do you think there's an actual world that Mike McCarthy remains the Cowboys' head coach
00:30entering 2025?
00:31I 100% think he will.
00:33And also understand this, he's still technically under contract until January the 14th, so
00:37they can decline.
00:38It's not like, oh, well, you're not going to let the guy go, no, he's not there.
00:41They're still making a determination on what they want to do, but trust me on this.
00:45He would have been fired weeks ago.
00:47You would have got all those reports from ESPN who love to talk about the Dallas Cowboys
00:51with smoke in the air, fire all over the place, and they could have always reined it back
00:56in.
00:57But we never heard one time that he was upset.
00:58All you heard from Jerry Jones throughout the remaining parts of the season, boy, they're
01:00playing hard for this guy.
01:02And also, again, Jerry Jones is one of the few owners, and again, you can't fire the
01:05owner.
01:06He is the general manager.
01:07But he has said multiple times, look, I like to be in control.
01:09I want to have a say.
01:10Mike McCarthy will give him all the say he wants as long as he's the head coach.
01:13It's a match made in heaven.
01:14They won't win.
01:15Jerry will be happy, and Mike will get paid.
