00:00Hello, my name is Luke Patrick. I am a reporter for the Lancashire Post and the Blackpool Gazette.

00:10Blackpool Council address Facebook rumours about asylum seekers and the Norbrek Castle Hotel.
00:16Asylum seekers will not be moved to another seafront hotel, say Blackpool Council, who have dismissed rumours circulating online.
00:25The Council say there is no truth to claims shared anonymously on Facebook about plans to move asylum seekers from the Metropole Hotel to the Norbrek Castle Hotel this year.
00:35The rumours surfaced on local Facebook pages last week when an anonymous user claimed to have learned from the plans from a reputable source.
00:46The unknown source said the plans were fact and not gossip and the move would see those currently housed in the Metropole relocated to the 487-bedroom Norbrek.
00:56They said the move would likely take place in the next couple of months.
01:00Around 220 asylum seekers were moved to the Metropole Hotel, part of the Britannia Hotels chain, in September 2021,
01:07with the government initially planning to use the seafront hotel as temporary accommodation for the next few months.
01:14Conway Cards in Garstang announced a shop close after 43 years with discount sale.
01:19The family-run card and gift shop, which has been a staple of Garstang for over 40 years, has announced it will be closing.
01:26Conway Cards, located at 16 High Street, will shut up shop next month and will be offering a 30% closing down sale.
01:36Announcing the news on their Facebook page earlier this week, a spokesperson for the business, which sells a variety of greeting cards, gifts, helium balloons and party products,
01:44said a lot of sleepless nights and serious thought went into the decision to close after 43 years.
01:50The Met Office issued a 18-hour ice warning after snowfall across Lancashire overnight.
01:56The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice as cold conditions continue to affect Lancashire.
02:03Snowfall overnight saw temperatures plummet below freezing, leading to school closures and disruptions across the county.
02:11Temperatures are expected to peak around 1 to 2 degrees this afternoon before quickly dropping below zero again this evening,
02:19hitting lows of minus 10 in eastern areas.
02:23The Met Office has subsequently issued a new yellow weather warning for ice which covers areas of West Lancashire, including Olmskirk, Boscoff and Skelmersdale.
02:34It will come into force on 4pm today and end at 10am on Friday 10th January.
02:40Major changes to A582 between Preston and South Ribble will move a step closer with the £6m gamble.
02:48Lancashire County Council's Cabinet will next week be asked to commit cash to the next stage of a longer-awaited overhaul of A582 between South Ribble and Preston.
02:58The Authority last year effectively abandoned a decade-old vision to turn the route into a dual carriageway from Lovestock Hall to Penrhythm.
03:05Citing changes to travel patterns since that blueprint was developed, County Hall instead set out a new scheme designed to reduce delays on the 3.2 stretch mile of road,
03:15redesigning some of its key junctions.
03:18The proposed changes include the removal of the twin roundabouts at Flensburg Way, Farrington Road, Crofton Road and Centurion Way,
03:26with three traffic light-controlled junctions being passed from that place.
