00:00House lawmakers, especially those involved in the conduct of the Quad Committee hearings,

00:04view the favorable results of their ongoing investigation by a recent survey result that

00:09they are taking the right path in unearthing truths and ensuring accountability of public

00:14servants. Daniel Manalastas has the details. In a commission survey by StratBase group through

00:21DePaul's Asia, it was revealed that 61 percent of Filipinos are in favor of the investigation

00:28by the House Quad Committee, while 24 percent cannot say if they are in favor or not.

00:34Eleven percent of the respondents do not agree with the investigation. The survey was conducted

00:40from November 26 to December 3, 2024, with 2,400 respondents. According to the survey,

00:47support is strongest in the National Capital Region, while Mindanao got the lowest percentage.

00:53The House Secretary-General believes the public is interested in what is happening

00:58to the Quad Committee. When I talk with my relatives in the U.S.,

01:04even some Filipino-Americans are interested in watching the Quad Committee proceedings.

01:12So I wouldn't be surprised if that's their interest. 61 percent, that's quite high.

01:23However, he admits the results of the survey may still change.

01:27It could change, or maybe it will increase, or decrease. We don't know. But

01:36what it shows only, and I take this as my personal opinion, what it shows is

01:42there's really a genuine interest on the part of the public.

01:50Meanwhile, 27 percent of Filipinos hope that probe will result in crafting of new laws.
