00:00Hello I'm Nathan Judo, I'm here with the Wolves Reporter, it is Mr. Liam Keane, Liam, FA Cup,
00:13Wolverhampton Wanderers 2, Bristol City 1, book your hotels for Wembley baby, we're going.
00:20Look, surprisingly strong side, named by Vito Pereira and I think they were value for the
00:25win in the end, although it should have been a bit more comfortable.
00:28Yeah definitely, they deserved to win the game, and they did, but they didn't take their
00:33chances, they weren't clinical enough in that first half after a very good start, and then
00:36once you allow Bristol a way back into the game it becomes a little bit concerning, so
00:40they started brilliantly, you described it on Twitter as men against boys, that was very
00:44fair, Bristol, no disrespect, they couldn't defend, they couldn't handle the pace at all.
00:52The goal between Premier League and Championship was clear, it was on show, Wolves scored two
00:57very nice goals, 8-0 and Rodrigo Gomez, both wing-backs get on the score sheet, they could
01:02have had more in that first half, before and after the goals, didn't add to it, and then
01:06it became a bit of a lull in that first half, Wolves were very comfortable, just sat back,
01:11very nonchalantly passing the ball around, Hwang gives a silly free kick away, and they
01:16score from the free kick, and then you go into half-time with it less comfortable and
01:19secure as it should have been. Wolves should have gone on and got three, four, five goals
01:24in that game, they didn't, and that's the first concern, the second concern is obviously
01:28the goal itself, the way they get the free kick away, the manner and the timing of it,
01:32and then the second half was sort of a non-event in a weird way, neither side really got into
01:38it for 35 minutes or so, Wolves had a couple of chances, Hwang missed a couple of very
01:43good chances, but Wolves never really looked likely to score, and then as you'd expect
01:48at home with it being one goal difference, Bristol started to up it, started to get chances,
01:52came very close of course hitting the crossbar to scoring, but Wolves got themselves through,
01:57they managed the five minutes of extra time very well I thought as well, it was unconvincing
02:02at the end, but a win nonetheless.
02:04Yeah, look, new debut, Emmanuel Agbadoo, how do you think he fared today?
02:09Yeah, not outstanding but definitely not bad, consistent, dealt with a lot of the threat
02:14relatively well, thought he was a little shaky in possession a couple of times, a couple
02:18of cross-field passes, a couple of shanked clearances on a couple of occasions that weren't
02:22quite up to scratch, but overall pretty straightforward and easy for him, comfortable enough, and
02:28he'll have a much bigger test to come, West Ham, sorry, West Ham, Newcastle on Wednesday
02:32was what I was thinking of, is a much greater task and of course the five minutes will be
02:38very difficult.
02:39Strong side, named by Vito Pereira, surprisingly strong to be honest today, but in terms of
02:45Emmanuel Agbadoo and his development, good that he was alongside two senior players in
02:50Matt Doherty and Santiago Bueno, albeit on the left-hand side, we might not see him
02:54on the left-hand side too many times, but that will help him if he was with two youngsters
02:58and they might be different, because we're expecting potentially those three to be the
03:03back three for Newcastle, Vito Pereira was saying he's not expecting Nelson Samedo or
03:07Craig Dawson to be back in time for the game, or Totti Gomez, so it will be good for him
03:13to get used to these players and hopefully develop a bit of a relationship.
03:17Yeah, definitely, it seemed pretty obvious to me that he shouldn't play today, of course
03:21there'll be people concerned about injuries and just general fitness and him being prepared
03:28and ready for this game, but he'd been playing in France, he came in, trained Thursday, trained
03:32Friday, was ready for the game, and I thought it was a smart thing to play him.
03:37Maybe slightly surprised he got through the whole game actually, I thought he might have
03:39come off slightly earlier.
03:40It wasn't a high-stress game though, was it?
03:42No it wasn't, and you needed the minutes to get used to English football, because it is
03:46different to French football, even playing a championship side it's very different,
03:48so he needed that opportunity, and I thought alongside the other two, it was a relatively
03:54solid back three to be honest, of course the wing-backs added the spark and the creativity,
03:58but those three I thought did relatively well.
03:59Yeah, and I thought the guys in the midfield, Andre and Joe Gomez, I thought they were very
04:03good today.
04:04Jongestran Larsson, still a bit off it, I thought, and Hwang Hee-chan, difficult day
04:08for him.
04:09Yeah, we've been big champions of Hwang, and I think rightly so and fairly so, but when
04:13you're given an opportunity, you have chances in a game and you don't take them, and don't
04:17take them in the manner in which he did, that's concerning, and you have to criticise him
04:21because he was poor today, he really was.
04:23There was two or three chances in that second half that he could have done a lot better
04:26with, and the first one was one that really concerned me.
04:29Joe Gomez lays it back to him, ten yards out, it comes very nicely and comfortably across
04:34his body, and you think it's a standard Hwang Hee-chan, bottom corner, drill it, get your
04:40knee over the ball, and as he approached the ball, he didn't look like he was struggling
04:46for confidence, and he shanked it far and high and wide, and it was not even close.
04:50So when you've got a player of his quality, not anywhere near his top level of performance,
04:56you have to come out on the team.
04:58He's had his chances now, I know he scored two in two a few weeks ago, but he's had his
05:02chances, he's not performed, and I think with Cunha back for the Newcastle game, that's
05:06probably his time back on the bench.
05:07I think so, I think if he'd had a stutter today, then it might have been Jongestran
05:10and Larson, but you've got to think it's probably going to be Cunha for Hwang in that side.
05:14Not too many other changes, I mean Sam Johnson and Sarr, it's probably your other one, but
05:17you look at…
05:18Guedes probably keeps his place.
05:19Guedes keeps his place, and you look at what Vitor Baro said after the game today, he's
05:22not expecting those three players to return.
05:25This is probably the main team they're looking at to play at St James' Park.
05:27Yeah, I think so.
05:28I mean on Guedes, he was the best of the top three, definitely.
05:33Does give the ball away a little bit too much for my liking, but there was a lot of endeavour
05:38and effort there on a game that we thought maybe he might not quite be up for it.
05:42He definitely was.
05:43So he definitely should be keeping his place.
05:45And you look at the others, Sarabia, Forbes, you know, Balegar, they're not pushing for
05:49a starting line-up.
05:50Sarabia did okay when he came on, Balegar was a non-entity again really, and look Wolves
05:56got there, saw the game up.
05:57You are right, it will be the vast majority of that 11, you're probably looking at one
06:01or two changes at most, will be starting against Newcastle.
06:06He's here!
06:07Am I?
06:08I'm wearing a women's top, it's fine, don't forget your jacket.
06:11Who do you fancy next round then?
06:13Ooh.
06:14Go on, who do you fancy lads?
06:15That's a tough one, that's a tough one.
06:16Do you fancy like League 2 away, or something like that, or do you fancy home, or do you
06:21want to travel?
06:22But you want to do a United 2 Football League club, don't you?
06:24Ah yeah, but look, we're long in the tooth now mate, we want Premier League stadiums,
06:29I don't want to be coming here, you know what I mean?
06:30It's a new place, a new mix zone, what are you talking about?
06:32Disgraceful.
06:33League 2, a long time ago, we're not going back there.
06:37It's a tough one, a relatively comfortable game for Wolves to win and go through, because
06:42it's not the priority, the FA Cup obviously, but if Wolves keep winning games, it's only
06:46a good thing.
06:47It's only a good thing for the team, it's only a good thing for the club.
06:49Keep going, keep going, I'm just checking, checking the score.
06:52Who I would want is a tough one to call, but I think as long as you get a game that's going
06:56to be competitive and Wolves will get through and hopefully win it, then I'm happy.
07:00I was going to say Middlesbrough away, but they're bloody out of the cup anyway, so bloody
07:03up.
07:04Had they been brought?
07:05Had they been a new stadium for them as well?
07:07I don't know, maybe next season.
07:08Wolves 2, Bristol City 1.
