00:00The Department of Education insisted that the public should not be alarmed with the teaching of comprehensive sexuality education.

00:10Criticism of the Teenage Pregnancy Bill, which was approved by Senator Risa Ontiveros, was also due to the spread of fake news.

01:08They understand the anxiety of the current implementation of the CSE and some provisions in the controversial Senate Bill 1979 or the Prevention of Adolescent Pregnancy Bill.

01:24Senator Risa Ontiveros was the first to block some of the fake news about the Senate Bill 1979.

01:32As a member of the Senate Bill, it is shocking and infuriating to see the lies spread on social media against this controversial law.

01:45First, there is no provision about the teaching of masturbation to children aged 0 to 4 years old

01:59or the teaching of bodily pleasure.

02:04Another fake news is that if a child is sexually active, they cannot tell their parents where they got it from.

02:17But some groups are protesting because of some provisions in the bill, such as Section 6.

02:24They are making it mandatory, standardized, to teach comprehensive sexuality education according to international standards.

02:37These are the two documents that I am referring to.

02:41Both who categorically, 0 to 4 years old, early childhood ****** is there.

02:49In UNESCO International Guidance, the body's pleasuring ******.

02:54Based on Section 6 of the Bill, the Department of Education, with the help of the Council and the cooperation of some agencies,

03:01needs to develop and promote educational standards, modules, and materials

03:07to promote comprehensive sexuality education in schools, communities, and youth institutions.

03:14The CSE should be a compulsory part of education,

03:19and the end goal is to normalize the discussion on adolescent sexuality and reproductive health,

03:25and to remove stigma on all levels.

03:28There is also a provision in the Bill that the CSE should be standardized and implemented in all public and private basic education institutions,

03:37and guided by DEPED and international standards.

03:42Angelique, how many Senators have already issued their opinion on this bill?

03:48Senator Joel Villanueva is particular about Section 16, which is based on international standards.

03:56But the Senator pointed out that it is not debatable if the discussion is against teenage pregnancy.

04:02When asked, Angelique, if President Francis Escudero will support the bill,

04:08he said, for now, if not in the original detail.

04:11But he has already relayed the proposed amendment of the bill.
