00:00The LGBT community is a microcosm of the world, and the way that the world is moving at the moment,
00:06inclusivity is paramount. LGBTQI plus people look like everyone.
00:11So being inclusive isn't a new direction, it's the direction of our community,
00:15and in order for our community to feel uplifted, celebrated and safe, that means including everyone.
00:22Birmingham Pride's Big Free Community Day embodies its commitment to inclusivity,
00:27creating spaces where everyone feels celebrated and safe, no matter their background.
00:34It's imperative for us at Birmingham Pride to ensure that our pride is accessible to all.
00:39In doing this, we've done so much research with our community to find out what it is that our community really need,
00:46how can we make it the safest, most accessible place,
00:49and how can we ensure that those individuals and those marginalised people have access to celebrate themselves and the people that they love.
00:59By prioritising accessibility and listening to its community,
01:03Birmingham Pride ensures its events reflect the needs of those often left out,
01:08fostering a sense of belonging for all.
01:12In terms of our partnerships, they play an integral role in Birmingham Pride and our free event.
01:18It's really important for us to collaborate with organisations and individuals who are aligned in our values,
01:24who want to have an inclusive pride, who want to have an inclusive space, and who really want to celebrate liberty for all.
01:32Partnerships are vital to Birmingham Pride's success,
01:35driving its mission to amplify underrepresented voices and make inclusivity a reality for future celebrations.
01:45Birmingham Pride is all about our community. There is no pride without us.
01:49So looking forward to 2025 and onwards, it's all about who's not at the table,
01:54who's not part of the conversation, and how can we include and amplify the most marginalised voices.
