Jesse Palmer on Telling Grant Ellis to Make a Finale Decision: 'We Have to Have an Ending'

00:00It's real, and I don't know if you could tell from watching that, from my reaction, I was

00:10surprised.

00:13That was something that I haven't encountered yet as host in the last four years on any

00:17of the franchises.

00:18I think normally, I think our leads have a little bit more clarity, a lot more clarity

00:22heading into the final day, and I really think that's how conflicted Grant really was.

00:28I've said this all along, the cast of women on Grant's season, they are remarkable.

00:33They're phenomenal.

00:35Every year for whoever our lead is, making that decision on the final day is always a

00:39very, very difficult decision, but I can appreciate some of why Grant was so conflicted.

00:46I'll just say that, but absolutely, without saying, giving away too much, that was authentic

00:52and it's real and it's not edited.

00:54It's not something that I want to say or I should say either.

00:58It's sort of implied.

01:01Everybody gets it, but it got to the point during our conversation where it was so up

01:07in the air.

01:10We had to get it going.

01:14He's got to make a decision, and we have to have an ending, and I'm sorry I did it.

01:24I said it that way and to break that fourth wall, but I had to say it to help him understand.

01:33I know Grant understood, but that's kind of where it went, and that shows just how real

01:40that was.

01:41Yeah, totally.

01:42I don't want to give it away and I don't want to speak on behalf of Grant, but I think he's

01:46very, very happy with how things ended.

01:49I know he's really excited for everybody to watch this whole thing unfold.

01:54Grant's a very easy guy to root for.

01:56I'm a fan of his, and I know he's a guy that's been so successful in everything he's done

02:02in his life outside of love, and so you're right.

02:06With Zach and Joey, we're kind of running this streak a little bit, and I think we have

02:11a chance to keep this thing going, fingers crossed.

02:16I mean, listen, absolutely.

02:20I think it's open.

02:21I was really sad to read that and see that as well, and I certainly hope they're both

02:27doing okay.

02:28This must be a really, really tough time for the two of them, and I know they're going

02:30to need time to process everything that happened, so I think the last thing they want to think

02:34about is rushing back into the show, but again, these decisions go way above my head.

02:41I absolutely think, though, that the show would consider having one or both back at

02:48some point down the road if they were open to it, absolutely.
