00:00The maximum suggested retail price of 58 pesos of imported rice is now effective.
00:05At the same time, officials of the DA and Department of Trade and Industry will visit the markets to find out if the SRP will be implemented on imported rice.
00:17Agriculture Assistant Secretary and Spokesperson Arnel Demesa said that the implementation of the maximum SRP will also help the mayors of Metro Manila.
00:28Demesa also noted that glutinous rice, black rice, and red rice are not included in the maximum SRP.
00:35According to the monitoring of the DA, the retail price of imported rice is being sold at the highest price of 65 pesos per kilo.
00:45Because of the implementation of the maximum SRP, Demesa hopes that the price of imported rice will be lowered in the coming days.
