Donald Trump is president once again and across the pond there will be celebrations and anxiety, depending on who you ask. He’s one of the most controversial figures in world politics, but clearly popular in the USA. So after politicians in Cardiff bay and Westminster voiced their concerns over him, we’re asking people here in Cardiff for their thoughts.

00:00A couple of years ago I thought it was a disgrace, I don't anymore,
00:05because standards seem to have gone through the floor everywhere.
00:09So if the Americans want him, I suppose they're entitled to have him, aren't they?
00:13That's the end of it.
00:14Personally, Trump makes my skin crawl.
00:17I can't stand his voice, but more than that,
00:21it's astounding to me that he has the backing that he has in America.
00:26I'm not exactly happy, to be honest with you.
00:29I'm amazed that he managed to get through for the second time.
00:32I've got quite strong views on it, really,
00:34and hopefully he won't ruin the Gaza peace deal, because I don't know.
00:38I mean, the guy says a lot of things, but will he deliver everything?
00:43But the markets in America love him, so that's what's got him in, isn't it?
00:47It's going to be interesting in the next couple of weeks
00:50whether he's going to forgive Starmer for the things that have been said about him
00:57and whether he'll refuse to accept our friend as the ambassador.
01:01That's going to be interesting.
01:03And I think he's got the right to turn him down if he wants to.
01:07It's not up for us to say, is it?
01:09I can see that he is clear.
01:12So I would like this world to be led by businessmen.
01:19According to our experience, during his last period of governing the US,
01:25there's no war in the Middle East, there's no war in Africa, there's no war in Europe.
01:30Yeah, he's very, very extreme, which is probably why people have wanted to assassinate him,
01:34which is very extreme in itself, and I don't advocate violence either.
01:38But I think that some of his views are very off, you know,
01:41and obviously don't help us live a peaceful life.
01:44I don't think he gets on well with Keir Starmer either.
01:47So how is that going to bode for the UK?
01:49It's a bit of a worry, if you ask me.
01:52No, I think it's going to be really difficult.
01:54It's not going to be easy for anyone to deal with Donald Trump, to be honest.
