JP and BMitch discuss how Eagles running back Saquon Barkley has found success this season in previous matchups against Washington. The guys think the Commanders improving defense could limit the big-play potential of Barkley in the NFC Championship.

00:00over the course of 120 minutes against Philadelphia, right?
00:04They played two 60 minute games over the course of 120 minutes against Philadelphia.
00:10And I'm speaking in general terms here.
00:12So you correct me if you disagree, but I'm just kind of, I'm, I'm estimating
00:16here of 120 minutes, I bet Washington has played pretty damn good defense
00:23on Saquon Barkley for 90 minutes forever, like three quarters of game
00:30time against Saquon, they've been pretty good.
00:32Yeah.
00:32Yeah.
00:33You take more solace in the three quarters of game time that they can continue that.
00:39Or the explosives are so damn dominant that he's only looked good for a quarter
00:45of the time and been that big of a factor.
00:49I think the explosives are things that automatically put points on the board.
00:53Automatically make it tougher for you.
00:54You have to, you have to combat that, but if you can alleviate those
00:59explosives, he gets one explosive and then you hold him down the rest of the
01:01way, which your office, you give yourself a chance, you know what I mean?
01:06In the first game for almost three quarters, he did nothing.
01:12And then he got crazy late in the game.
01:14Why?
01:14Because we were not efficient as an offense in the second game.
01:19He started the game off on fire.
01:21He finished it freezing, feeling like it is outside cold.
01:26So basically he's played two quarters spectacular against them.
01:29And the other six, he has not.
01:33I've been fine some kind of way.
01:35Well, 41 yards and 41 yards and three quarters is not fine.
01:38That's not good for him for what he's capable of.
01:41Yeah.
01:41If they can some kind of way start with what they've done to be able to hold
01:48him down those other quarters, but keep it up for the most part.
01:51Listen, a lot of times when Saquon goes a distance, it's not because it's
01:56just that blocked it well, somebody takes the wrong damn angle.
02:00Sure.
02:00We saw in the game against Detroit, Jameer Gibbs going up the left
02:05sideline, they try to go inside.
02:07You're not going inside and back outside and catch him.
02:11Right.
02:11Run straight at his outside to throw him down and cut him off.
02:15You got to take the right angle.
02:17Or when you hit him, if you can't tackle him, don't just shoulder
02:21him, wrap up and hold on.
02:24I guarantee he can't run 62 yards.
02:26You wrapped right at the waist.
02:27This, the splits from that game are nuts.
02:31At halftime.
02:32Saquon had 13 for one 23 and two touchdowns.
02:36He was averaging nine and a half yards per game with a 68 yard touchdown.
02:40That's the second game.
02:41This is week 16.
02:42Yeah, this is the one they won.
02:44At the end of that game, he had 29 carries for 150 yards.
02:48So that means so he had 13 for one.
02:51So he had 16 carats for 27 yards.
02:53The rest of the way.
02:56Think about that now.
02:57I mean, 16 for 27, the rest of the way.
03:03The thing about him is he's going to try.
03:05How much did that change?
03:06Well, can he pick it out there?
03:08I don't know.
03:08I don't think we can pick it.
03:09You want to give him more.
03:11Right.
03:11Right.
03:11But like maybe Washington adjusts how they're covering
03:16and commit more to the line.
03:17And I think, I think the ultimate, I think they could do that this weekend.
03:19The team this week comes down to where is Jake?
03:23Where is Jalen hurts?
03:25Right.
03:25It comes down to that.
03:27If he, if that leg bothers him, you can bring somebody else into the box.
03:33They listen, that offensive line of Detroit, I would be lying with them.
03:40They got to find a way to do something.
03:41And I know Philly's line is way better.
03:43Okay.
03:45But you showed something against the office that was dominant all year.
03:49Last week.
03:51You can't take a step back from that.
