00:00We will continue our conversation with PBOX Director Taracito Bacolcol. Director Bacolcol, good morning.
00:09Yes sir. Good morning to you as well.
00:11Are these two landfills similar?
00:14No. These two landfills are different. Their generators are different.
00:20In Sambuanga del Norte, most likely the generator would be the Sulu Trench because it's deep and it can reach up to 43 kilometers.
00:28In Southern Leyte, the generator would be an offshore active fault west of Panaon Island.
00:34They are not connected. None of them are connected.
00:38It just so happened that we had a strong earthquake yesterday morning.
00:45But is it right for them to be connected?
00:49Yes. Again, we have 175 active fault segments and we have 6 trenches.
00:55There is always this possibility that two or three active faults will move at the same time even if they are far away.
01:05How about the aftershocks Director?
01:10For the magnitude 5.8 earthquake in Southern Leyte as of 4 a.m., we recorded 156 aftershocks.
01:19The magnitude range would be from magnitude 1.5 to 2.9.
01:25None of those were felt. We only recorded the instruments.
01:30In Sambuanga del Norte, the magnitude 5.4 yesterday, as of 4 a.m., we recorded 21 aftershocks.
01:40The magnitude range would be from magnitude 1.8 to 2.2.
01:46Our earthquake drill, Director, because here in Sambuanga City, our students had a panic attack.
01:55Even though we cannot predict the aftermath, how can they prepare for this?
02:01Again, here we can see the importance of participating in earthquake drills.
02:08We really have to participate in earthquake drills.
02:15If there are earthquakes, our actions would come out naturally, this habit forming, and it builds muscle memory.
02:25Again, if there are earthquakes, we stay calm.
02:31If we are inside the house or in the house, we do the drop, cover and hold.
02:37If we are outside, we go to an open area, away from houses, houses, houses and trees.
02:46After the drill, we follow the evacuation instructions if necessary.
02:51We listen to official warnings from LGUs and advisories from our office.
03:03First is safety before taking a selfie, right Director?
03:06You're right.
03:08Thank you very much.
03:09Feedback from Director Teresito Bacolcol. Be careful.
03:11Thank you very much.
