00:00A fundraiser has been launched in memory of six-year-old Hope Gordon whose body
00:05was found alongside that of her father in a West Calder home. Police were called
00:09to the house in the village's Harborne Drive on January 20th after a family
00:14member called them concerned that Hope hadn't turned up to school. Officers
00:18forced entry to the property and Hope and her father Mark Gordon, who was 36,
00:22were found dead inside. The area was taped off while investigations were
00:27carried out and a forensic tent was also erected in the garden of the
00:30property. Police initially said that both deaths were been treated as
00:34unexplained but later said that following a post-mortem examination
00:39they were treating Hope's death as murder. Her father's death, they said, is
00:43still unexplained but police said they don't believe anyone else was involved.
00:48Close family friend Melanie Wheldon has now set up a GoFundMe page in memory of
00:53Hope and to help her family cover funeral costs. She described Hope as a
00:57vibrant and loving little girl and said the hearts of her family and friends had
01:01been shattered by the news of her death. She added that she was known for her
01:06infectious smile, kind spirit and deep love of animals. She said Hope's life was
01:12tragically cut short leaving a void in the hearts of her family and friends
01:15that can never be filled. To donate to the GoFundMe page go to
