00:00Charlie, looking at Birmingham City and obviously an incredible season so far that they're really
00:06just carrying on this incredible run, this incredible push towards the Ligue 1 title.
00:11Just showing multiple times we've mentioned the quality throughout the side, the signings
00:15they've made, the investment has always been a league above where they are and where they're
00:20supposed to be. And this is an ideal thing for Blues fans, drop, clear about a bit of
00:25dead wood, clear that toxic atmosphere and have a bit of a rebuilding phase and go straight
00:31back up to the Championship. As we mentioned, that would have been the goal from the start
00:35of the season. It's very likely that they are going to achieve that.
00:39In terms of squad depth recently, sometimes around this time of the year squads do get
00:44thin, you look at injuries and you do have to start making some adjustments, especially
00:49if you are to go further in a few competitions like we have mentioned. There could be more
00:53silverware on the cards for them if they are to go further in the likes of the EFL
00:59Trophy and maybe even the FA Cup. I know they've got that incredibly tough draw against Newcastle.
01:04What do you make of where they are at the moment with the squad depth and how they can
01:09go on in the next few weeks?
01:12I think it's been tested to the limit over these last few weeks. Obviously, Birmingham,
01:16with their very deep pockets, were able to strengthen enough in the summer to have that
01:20squad depth, but actually testing it is a different matter in a creative sense as well.
01:25They've both been injured, so to have Mark Leonard and Taylor Gardner-Hickman stepping
01:30into those positions, Christian Bielek coming back from injury as well, Jay Stansfield was
01:35out for a little while, Keshie Anderson, Willem Willemsen, it's just been...Emil Hansen. There's
01:41been so many issues that Chris Davies had to contend with, but whatever happens he managed
01:45to just kind of break through. I know they have got that incredible squad that so many
01:50teams in the division would love and dream to have, but even so, it's difficult to have
01:54the continuity and to continue that form when there are so many players dropping out through
01:59injury or through fitness problems. So, I've been really impressed.
02:02The different side of the game was shown against Wrexham as well, having to sit back and defend,
02:08clear away everything coming into the box. It was absolutely relentless, the crosses
02:11that Wrexham were putting into that penalty area, but Christophe Plara and Ben Davies
02:15in the middle, so, so strong to head everything away, clear away. I spoke to Plara after the
02:22game as well, I asked him, would you head a brick away for this team, and he said he
02:25absolutely would, and that he's dedicated to this team, dedicated to the project. I
02:30think that just kind of sums up the unity, the strength amongst this squad. Chris Davies
02:34has got them on such a great run, such a good high, and I can see them becoming champions,
02:39not just by a few points, but by quite some distance.
