00:00Good afternoon from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:03This is our update on the weather for the next 24 hours.
00:09We can see here in our latest satellite images,
00:11the thick clouds that continue to surround the northern part of Luzon
00:17is the continuous effect of the shoreline due to the hot and cold winds.
00:22That's why the chances of rain that we're expecting
00:24are mostly in the southern part of Luzon
00:27and the eastern section of northern and central Luzon.
00:31That's because of the north-east monsoon,
00:33or the cold wind that blows in the north and the middle of Luzon.
00:37Meanwhile, the easterlies, or the wind that comes from the Pacific Ocean,
00:41is the weather system that is mostly affected in Visayas and Mindanao.
00:47For Metro Manila and most of Luzon,
00:50this northern and central Luzon area,
00:52where we can still see the clear skies today,
00:55aside from the chances of light rains or storms
00:58brought by the cold winds.
01:00That's why the chances of rain that we're expecting in the southern Luzon,
01:04more in particular, the eastern section of southern Luzon,
01:07and the fair weather conditions that we'll experience in Visayas and Mindanao,
01:12aside from the chances of isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.
01:17At the moment, we're still monitoring the low-pressure area,
01:19or the weather conditions inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility,
01:24that could bring storms in the coming days.
01:28This is our latest weather advisory issued as of 5 p.m. today.
01:33We're still hoping that for the next 24 hours,
01:36starting this afternoon until tomorrow afternoon,
01:38we'll expect moderate to heavy rains.
01:41These are the areas shaded by yellow
01:43in the provinces of Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Quezon, Aurora,
01:48and also here in the province of Isabela.
01:54Starting tomorrow afternoon to Saturday afternoon,
01:56these rains will gradually subside.
01:58This area of Isabela will be affected by the strong rains of the shoreline.
02:03That's why, as mentioned earlier,
02:04this eastern section of Luzon in particular,
02:07we should be prepared for the chances of flooding and landslides
02:10because even though we're hoping that the shoreline will be affected,
02:14at least for the next 24 hours,
02:16we'll still experience heavy rains.
02:20This will be our forecast for tomorrow here in the Luzon area.
02:25We're hoping that starting tomorrow,
02:27the shoreline will gradually rise and fall
02:30accompanied by a weakening of the northeast monsoon
02:33or the cold wind.
02:35We're hoping that there will be widespread rains,
02:37landslides, and landslides in the eastern part of Luzon,
02:40particularly in the area of Cagayan Valley,
02:43as well as in the Cordillera, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol regions.
02:51That's why we're hoping that there will be high chances of thunderstorm activity
02:54in these areas.
02:56We're also hoping that we'll experience thunderstorm activity
02:59in the southern Luzon area,
03:01for Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and most of Mimaropa,
03:04but we're still hoping for fair weather conditions.
03:07For the rest of northern Luzon,
03:09in the Ilocos region,
03:11we're hoping for fair weather conditions
03:13and if we're expecting rain,
03:15we're hoping for light rains.
03:19For the areas of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
03:22for tomorrow,
03:24we're hoping that it will be partly cloudy,
03:26accompanied by heavy rains, landslides, and landslides.
03:31We're also preparing to bring rain cover
03:35because there's a high chance of thunderstorm activity
03:38in the afternoon and evening.
03:41In the afternoon, we'll experience mostly cloudy weather
03:45in Visayas and Mindanao.
03:47Heavy rains will be expected
03:49followed by thunderstorms
03:51in the late afternoon to evening.
03:55For our current sea level,
03:57we still have gale warnings
03:59for some of our country's seaboards.
04:01More in particular,
04:02the Ilocos Norte seaboards
04:04in Cagayan, Isabela,
04:07Aurora,
04:08Northern and Southern coasts of Quezon,
04:11Southern coasts of Batangas,
04:15Northern and Eastern coasts of Oriental Mindoro,
04:19Camarines Norte,
04:21Northern coasts of Camarines Sur,
04:24Northern and Eastern coasts of Catanduanes,
04:26Eastern coasts of Albay,
04:29Eastern coasts of Sorsogon,
04:31and Northern and Eastern coasts of Northern Samara.
04:36For those of you who have been to these places,
04:38for those of you who will be fishing
04:40and for those of you who will be traveling by sea,
04:42please do not go out yet
04:44because we will experience strong winds.
04:47For the rest of Luzon,
04:49we will experience moderate to strong waves
04:52with moderate to strong waves.
04:54So please be careful
04:56for those of you who will be sailing
04:58even though we don't have gale warnings
05:00here in the western section of Luzon.
05:03And for our three-day weather outlook
05:05in the surrounding areas of our country,
05:08for Luzon, in the areas of Metro Manila,
05:11Baguio City, and Legazpi City,
05:12we can already see signs of a weakening shoreline.
05:16We can also see a weakening of our northeast monsoon
05:20or the cold wind.
05:21So, fair weather conditions that we will experience
05:24in most of Luzon.
05:26Let's hope that because our wind has weakened,
05:29the chances of thunderstorm occurrences
05:31will be high from day to night.
05:33Except here in the area of Baguio City
05:35and most of Cordillera,
05:36where by Monday,
05:38we will experience a new wave of the northeast monsoon
05:40or the cold wind.
05:41So, the conditions that we are hoping for
05:43in the area of Cordillera are light rains
05:45or just light rain.
05:47And let's still hope for low temperatures
05:49in the early hours
05:50because of the effect of the northeast monsoon.
05:55In the area of Visayas,
05:57in the areas of Metro Cebu, Iloilo City,
05:59and Tacloban City,
06:01in these three days,
06:03from over the weekend
06:05until Monday next week,
06:07we will also experience fair weather conditions.
06:09We are still hoping for clear skies.
06:12But when the afternoon comes,
06:14because of the high chances of thunderstorm activity,
06:16let's hope that our skies will be cloudy.
06:19It is possible for sudden and quick rains to fall
06:24late afternoon to evening.
06:27In the area of Mindanao,
06:29in the cities of Metro Davao, Cagayan de Oro City,
06:31and Zamboanga City,
06:33in these three days,
06:34within this forecast period,
06:36we will experience fair weather conditions.
06:38Except here in the eastern section of Mindanao.
06:40So, in the area of Davao region,
06:42it is possible for us to experience
06:44high chances of thunderstorms
06:46and continuous rains,
06:47floods, and landslides
06:48on Sunday.
06:50It is possible that this is an effect
06:52of the Intertropical Convergence Zone
06:54or ITCZ
06:55that is possible to affect the southern portion of Mindanao.
06:59But by Monday,
07:00we will experience improving weather conditions
07:02in most of Mindanao.
07:04But even now,
07:05we are hoping for high chances of thunderstorm activity
07:07by afternoon to evening.
07:10The highest day here in the Philippines
07:12will be 555 in the morning
07:15and will rise tomorrow to 625 in the morning.
