01:02Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Ana Marrero from the Telesur headquarters
01:06in Caracas, Venezuela.
01:07Now we begin with the news, stay with us.
01:24In the U.S., the American Airlines Flight 5342 from Wichita to Washington, D.C. crashed
01:31with a military helicopter on Wednesday night near the Derrida National Airport.
01:35The passengers, plane, the car, ran in 60 passengers and four crew members.
01:40In the helicopter, a black Hawk, were at least three U.S. soldiers at the time of the collision,
01:46according to the statements of the senior defense official.
01:49The number of casualties is not yet known, but the police forces have pulled at least
01:5418 bodies from Potomac River.
01:57Maryland state police divers are on the scene to help search in the river.
02:08The Federal Aviation Administration states that Reagan National Airport has been closed
02:12temporarily and that flights have been diverted to the Baltimore-Washington International
02:19Marshall Airport.
02:20Moreover, the U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter that collided with American Airlines Flight
02:265342 was on a training flight at the time of the accident, declared the spokesperson
02:33for the Joint Task Force National Capital Region, Heather DeCharisse.
02:38This is for Emergency Medical Service Chief John A. Donnelly.
02:43Seniors said all search and rescue efforts taking place right now are in the water, that
02:50conditions are dangerous and that recovery efforts will likely take several days.
02:56The U.S. Department of Defense described the event as an accident and ruled out the possibility
03:01of a terrorist attack.
03:07On the aircrash occurred this Wednesday night, the CEO of American Airlines, Robert A. Sama,
03:13released video statements.
03:14Let's see what he said.
03:17Most importantly, I'd like to express our deep sorrow about these events.
03:21This is a difficult day for all of us at American Airlines, and our efforts now are focused
03:26entirely on the needs of our passengers, crew members, partners, first responders, along
03:31with their families and loved ones.
03:34Flight 5342 was under the command of four crew members and carried 60 passengers for
03:40a total of 64 people on board.
03:45We are actively working with local, state, and federal authorities on emergency response
03:49efforts, and the American Airlines care team has been activated to assist our passengers
03:54and their families.
03:55U.S. President Donald Trump criticized on Wednesday that a crash between the military
04:01helicopter and the commercial airliner was not avoided.
04:05Through the social network, Trust Social, the President expressed that the plane was
04:09on a perfect, routine approach line to the airport.
04:13Helicopter was heading directly towards the aircraft for a long period of time.
04:18It was clear night, the plane's lights were on, while I said the helicopter going up or
04:23down on tornado, why didn't the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of
04:28asking if they saw the plane?
04:30This is a bad situation that seems like it should have been avoided.
04:34It's not good.
04:40U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday to open a migration detention
04:45center at the Guantanamo National Naval Base.
04:48Trump announced that the new space will be used to detain up to 30,000 undocumented immigrants
04:54in the U.S. who allegedly represent a threat to society.
04:58The U.S. head of state inscribed the executive order following a White House event at which
05:04he signed his first legislation as president, in Raleigh Law, which will facilitate the
05:10arrest and deportation of undocumented foreigners charged with misdemeanors.
05:21Cuba rejects on Wednesday the decision announced by U.S. President Donald Trump to use the
05:26Guantanamo Naval Base to incarcerate tens of thousands of migrants he has proposed to
05:33forcibly expel.
05:35A committee from Cuba's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed that this decision is a
05:39demonstration of the brutality with which Washington is acting to supposedly correct
05:44problems created by the economic and social conditions of the country.
05:49The document also indicates that many of the people the U.S. is expelling or intends to
05:54expel are victims of the government's own plundering policies and field labor, fields
05:59that have strictly exceeded in agriculture, construction, industry, services, and various
06:05sectors of the U.S. economy.
06:08For the more than a dozen regs, a note explains that the territory where Washington intends
06:12to lock them up does not belong to the U.S.
06:15It is a portrait of Cuban territory, which remains militarily occupied illegally and
06:21against the will of the Cuban nation.
06:24Finally, it points out that the responsible use of that place would generate a scenario
06:29of risk and insecurity in the illegal clave and its surroundings.

14:34During her daily morning conference, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum assured that she
14:39has already prepared a plan to deal with the increasing tariffs proposed by the government
14:45of the United States.
14:46She also affirmed that these plans will only be revealed if Trump fulfills his threats.
14:54However, she reiterated that her government's position is to maintain positive bilateral
15:00relations with Washington.
15:02The statement came after the White House confirmed that from February 1st, an increase in tariffs
15:09will come into force from Mexico and Canada, both trade partners of the U.S.
15:22We don't think it will happen, and if it does we also have our plan, we will inform you,
15:27we will do it in due course.
15:29But we don't think it will happen.
15:30As I said, there are talks, there is dialogue, so we don't think this definition of tariffs

18:25I am going to insist only on one aspect, which is the deep admiration that Fidel felt for
18:30what we could call MartĂ's intellectual honesty, his profound honesty and this character of
18:34MartĂ.
18:44Seen by Fidel as a man of virtues, in particular Fidel used to tell me, for example when we
18:49were working on he booked 100 hours with Fidel, he used to say, you can ask me, whatever
19:03you want, I will never tell you a lie, I will never tell you a lie.even the book ends by
