00:22It is now approved by the House Committee on Labor and Employment, the minimum wage hike of P200 per day for the employees of the private sector in the country.

00:33Under the passed Substitute Bill, the 200 Pesos Daily Across the Board Wage Increase Act,

00:39all private employers, whether they are agricultural or non-agricultural,

00:44and even some of their employees are allowed to fulfill the 200 Pesos Daily Minimum Wage Hike.

00:51If the bill is passed, any person, corporation, or company that violates this provision may be fined or imprisoned.

01:00We did a thorough discussion and study so that we can make a decision that the 200 Pesos Daily Minimum Wage Increase Act is appropriate for the workers.

01:10Some labor groups opposed the passing of the bill to the House Panel, especially since they have been fighting it for a long time.

01:19We are happy with the 200 Pesos Daily Minimum Wage Hike from the 150 Pesos Daily Minimum Wage Hike proposal.

01:23It is a big help to the workers, especially since the prices are increasing.

01:29Any additional wage increase in the wages of the workers is a big help in increasing their purchasing power.

01:42But this is saddened by a group of employers.

01:46As you know, when the minimum wage increases, there is no correction in the business of the companies, especially the small ones.

01:56This is a remedy. They will increase their prices if the market can afford it.

02:02Or they will reduce the number of people. Or if they really can't afford it, they will just close down.

02:07House Speaker Martin Romualdez confirmed that they will balance the situation.

02:13They are considering mechanisms to help micro, small, and medium enterprises.
