00:00The support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administration reached the governors of Visayas region.

00:08The President also visited the Regional Development Council where he discussed the important projects in Central Visayas.

00:16This is Jesse Atchensa of PTV in Balitang Pambansa.

00:21At 9 in the morning, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s airplane landed at Brigadier General Benito Ebuen Air Base.

00:33He was immediately greeted by Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, Undersecretary Terrence Calatrava, and officials of PNP and Philippine Air Force.

00:42More than 4,000 lawyers from the public and private sectors were waiting for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for the 20th National Congress for Lawyers

00:53organized by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines every two years.

00:58The foundation of the legal community is growing stronger and everyone is guided, especially the young lawyers in their profession.

01:12And that is climate crisis.

01:14This is no longer an abstract threat that is spoken about at the high levels of science.

01:21It is a reality that jeopardizes the very survival of future generations.

01:27Your field plays a vital role in this endeavor, crafting and upholding stronger environmental policies that protect our shared home,

01:38developing the concept of environmental justice.

01:44By doing so, you safeguard the rights of today and preserve the dreams and dignity of those that will follow us.

01:53Strengthening the legal profession, however, demands more than responding to crises.

01:59It also requires reinforcing your field's very foundations, education, continuous learning.

02:06The next generation of lawyers must be prepared to meet the challenges of this ever-changing world.

02:12And so, the 3,962 new lawyers, welcome to the frontlines of justice.

02:19Your journey begins now.

02:21The President also attended the gathering of local government officials in Nalawigan ng Cebu

02:27led by Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia, who issued a Manifest of Support to the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

02:36The governors of Visayas region also issued support to the new Philippines of Punong Ejecutivo.

02:44It's a huge thing for us because, you remember, I ran under the flag of unity.

02:50And we have seen, and I think this is something that the local governments immediately recognize,

02:58that we can really get very much done if we really work together.

03:04If we fight, fight, fight, block, look for ways to block,

03:11just to get political points, nothing will really happen to us.

03:17We should put those attempts to one side and stay together.

03:22And this is a big, big block.

03:25This is the Visayas block.

03:27And with them as our partners in the national government, there's so much that we can do.

03:33And I'm very grateful to all the governors of Region 6, 7, and 8 for their expressions of support.

03:44It is a very, very important part of our nation building.

03:48We know that, at the very least, here in Visayas,

03:54we can hope that they will help with the programs that the government is bringing.

04:02Punong Ejecutivo also visited the Regional Development Council Region 7 meeting

04:08where the important projects for Central Visayas were discussed.

04:13Cebu is one of the largest areas for public investment.

04:18We had a discussion today in the RDC.

04:27There are several major projects in the city.

04:29There are several major projects in the province,

04:33both in terms of connectivity, physical connectivity.

04:38In terms of agri, maybe we will have a program to help the government,

04:47the local governments, the national government to lower the price of rice.

04:54We had a lot of discussions.

04:57There are several infrastructure projects that are ongoing.

05:05Cebu tends to take on the smaller projects.

05:15The province is doing it.

05:18Most of the projects that are going to Cebu are very significant

05:24and legacy projects that are a priority of the national government's socioeconomic plan.
