00:00Filipinos, the important part of the workforce of the United States, according to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:07America's new immigration policy, the Chief Executive of the U.S. Government will open to discuss.

00:14Alvin Balcazar of Radyo Pilipinas with the news for the country.

00:20President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of the Filipino workers in the workforce of the United States.

00:28In the midst of this, it was first reported that some Filipinos are in favor of implementing the U.S.'s tight immigration policy under its new leader, U.S. President Donald Trump.

00:40According to the Chief Executive, this is one of the things he wants to resolve and needs to be done.

00:47President Marcos said he will look at how the U.S.'s new policy on immigration can possibly be influenced.

00:55This is also in the middle of his plan to meet the new president of the U.S., Donald Trump.

01:03Hundreds of Filipinos have returned home.

01:07So this is something that we have to work through and hopefully resolve.

01:12Because the Filipinos in the United States especially have really formed a very important part already of their workforce.

01:19The President said that he wants to meet President Trump, not just to talk about his new policy on immigration.

01:28According to the Chief Executive, he has a lot to discuss with his U.S. counterpart.

01:33They will meet and talk for a while.

01:35How much this has to do with trade and security.

01:42I will meet with President Trump because I should because there is much that we need to discuss between the U.S. and the Philippines in terms of trade, in terms of defense and security.

02:00And according to the earlier reports that there are Filipinos who have returned from the U.S. due to the protection of illegal immigrants,

02:07the Department of Labor and Employment has announced that they will help those affected by the campaign.

02:13According to Labor Secretary Benvenido Laguesma, they will help the Department of Migrant Workers

02:19that has a program for OFWs returning home through their reintegration program.

02:27The Department of Labor and Employment will continue to help the Department of Migrant Workers

02:32because that is what our President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has always chosen,

02:36complementation and convergence of what other departments are doing.
