Police said they had arrested a 37-year-old man for slashing a Singaporean man with a machete in Kluang, Johor on Friday.

Video of the man being questioned on who ordered him to carry out the attack went viral.

00:20Kluang OCPD Assistant Commissioner Barin Mohamad Noh said the incident occurred around 5.50
00:27a.m. at Kampung Tengah in Kluang, and a police team detained the suspect at the scene around
00:326.10 a.m. He said the suspect had a criminal record, including two previous criminal cases
00:38and five narcotics-related offences. He said a urine test showed that the suspect tested
00:45positive for methamphetamine. He said the suspect has been remanded until February 3,
00:50while police are tracking down other suspects who are still at large. CCTV footage showing
00:56two men entering a house compound and one of them shattering the victim's car windows
01:01was circulated on social media. One of them was apprehended by several villagers who
01:06confronted the suspects.
01:13Police have released a photo fit of a person whom they are seeking to assist in their investigation.
