00:00The House of Representatives also passed several bills yesterday, three days before the end of the session of the Congress.

00:07Among them is the bill to lower the premium contribution to PhilHealth to Melanies Moras in the center of the news.

00:17With 193 members voting in the affirmative, four in the negative, and zero abstentions.

00:22A few days before recess, the House of Representatives passed several important bills.

00:30For example, House Bill 11357, or the amendment to the Universal Health Care Act,

00:37which is now approved in the third and final reading of the bill.

00:42Under this, the premium contribution rate to PhilHealth will be lowered,

00:47and the state insurer's contribution will be improved, especially for OFWs.

00:53The Department of Health is very pleased with this move by the House of Representatives.

00:57According to DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, they consider this a major development

01:02and they are also looking forward to the discussion of the bill in the Bicameral Conference Committee.

01:09Aside from that, in the last reading of the House of Representatives,

01:12the House of Representatives is pushing for individuals who have obtained a Certificate of Candidacy

01:16to be considered as nuisance candidates in the election

01:20so that they can earn or receive other considerations.

01:23The House of Representatives is looking at the capacity of the Bureau of Animal Industry

01:27and the creation of the Animal Competitiveness Enhancement Fund.

01:30The House of Representatives is also pushing for the release of Filipino sports heroes

01:35and two recommendations on the management of cigarettes and other products.

01:43Meanwhile, there is good news for the workers.

01:47After reading the committee level on Tuesday,

01:50House Bill No. 11376 was also approved in the second reading of the House of Representatives

01:55or a recommendation to add P200 to the daily wage of minimum wage workers in the private sector.

02:02This was fully supported by various labor groups

02:05such as the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines

02:07which again asked the President to certify the nomination as urgent.
