వైఎస్సార్ జిల్లా పులివెందుల నియోజకవర్గంలో పండించే అరటికి రాష్ట్రంలోనే కాక దేశవ్యాప్తంగానూ మంచి డిమాండ్‌ ఉంది. నాణ్యమైన "ఏ" గ్రేడు రకం ఇక్కడ లభిస్తున్నందున వ్యాపారులు కొనేందుకు పోటీ పడుతున్నారు. ఇదే అరటికి ఇప్పుడు అంతర్జాతీయంగానూ గిరాకీ ఏర్పడింది. ఫలితంగా టన్ను అరటి ధర అత్యధికంగా 30 వేలు పలుకుతోంది. గడిచిన మూడేళ్లుగా అరటిని సాగు చేస్తూ లాభాలు గడిస్తున్న రైతులు ఈ సారి ధర అధరహో అనిపించడంపై హర్షం వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు.
