00:00Good afternoon from Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center, this is our update on the weather for the next 24 hours.
00:09We can see here in our latest satellite images, these thick clouds that are hovering in the central section of our country.
00:18More in particular, this Southern Luzon-Visayas area is the continuous effect of this shoreline,
00:24that is, in the presence of hot and cold winds.
00:27That is why for the next 24 hours, starting this afternoon, we will be able to experience heavy rains,
00:33floods, and landslides along the shoreline here in the entire Visayas, Bicol Region,
00:39the entire Mimaropa, and a large part of the Calabar Zone, as well as here in the area of Dinagat Islands.
00:46Since the Northeast Monsoon is the coldest season, we will also experience heavy rains and floods
00:51in some parts of the Southern Luzon, particularly in Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, La Lawiga ng Aurora, and Ilocos Norte.
01:00In Metro Manila and in the remaining parts of our country, we will experience light rains and thunderstorms in the remaining parts of Mindanao.
01:16At the moment, we are not yet being monitored for low-pressure areas or bad weather.
01:21Inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility, there may be thunderstorms in the coming days.
01:27Even so, we will continue to monitor these cloud clusters outside of our PAR,
01:32and this is the possible low-pressure area in the coming days.
01:35We expect that this effect of the shoreline will continue to cause rains
01:41in a large part of the Southern Luzon and Visayas in the coming days.
01:46This is our latest weather advisory issued as of 5 p.m. today.
01:52Starting today, this afternoon and the day after tomorrow,
01:56the areas shaded by orange in the provinces of Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, Samar, and Eastern Samar will experience heavy to intense rains.
02:08We will also experience moderate to heavy rains in areas shaded by yellow in the areas of Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque,
02:17Camarines Provinces, Catanduanes, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Dinagat Islands.
02:23So, in these areas, especially the areas shaded by orange,
02:28we should be prepared for heavy rains and landslides
02:31because we expect that the rains we may experience will be significant for the next 24 hours.
02:37Starting tomorrow afternoon to Saturday afternoon,
02:40the axis of our shoreline will rise.
02:46Heavy to intense rains in the areas of Northern Samar, Sorsogon, Albay, and Catanduanes will still be possible.
02:52Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains will be possible in the areas of Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Quezon, Camarines Provinces, Masbate, Biliran, Leyte, and Southern Leyte.
03:05Once Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon arrives,
03:09the axis of our shoreline will continue to rise.
03:12So, the rains will decrease in some parts of Visayas,
03:15but the rains will continue in a large part of Southern Luzon.
03:19So, heavy to intense rains will still be possible in the areas shaded by orange in the areas of Quezon,
03:24moderate to heavy rains in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and in the province of Bulacan.
03:31We will continue to monitor the updates that are being issued by Pag-asa about the shoreline,
03:36like our localized warnings, heavy rainfall warnings, or rainfall advisories
03:41that are being issued by our colleagues in Pag-asa Regional Centers in our localities.
03:49And for the time being, for the next 24 hours,
03:54the rains will continue in most of Ilocos Region, as well as the rest of Central Luzon.
04:02Because of the cold weather in the Northeast,
04:05here in Metro Manila, we will experience rain and storms.
04:09The rains will continue here in Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, and in the province of Aurora.
04:16For the rest of Luzon, generally fair weather is expected tomorrow
04:19in most of Ilocos Region, as well as the rest of Central Luzon.
04:24It will only be accompanied by light rains.
04:30In the province of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
04:33because of the shoreline, we will experience continuous rains
04:38caused by the weather system in a large part of Visayas, as well as in the province of Mimaropa.
04:45And because of the Easter lease, tomorrow morning until the afternoon,
04:48we will expect heavy rains, floods, and landslides in the northern part of Mindanao,
04:54in the areas of Caraga and Davao Region.
04:58The area of Eastern Visayas will still be affected by the shoreline,
05:01so we should be prepared for landslides and landslides
05:05because we will still experience continuous rains.
05:09For the rest of Mindanao, the fair weather conditions will continue,
05:13regardless of the chance of isolated rain showers
05:16or sudden and sudden rains caused by localized thunderstorms.
05:22And for the sea level, as of 5 p.m. today,
05:24we still have a gale warning in the seaboards of Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas.
05:30In particular, we have a gale warning in the northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes,
05:35northern and eastern coasts of Northern Samar, and eastern coasts of Eastern Samar.
05:41So to our fellow fishermen and those who have small fishing vessels in these areas,
05:46let's not go out yet because we will experience heavy seas brought by strong winds.
05:53And for our three-day weather outlook in the neighboring cities of our country,
05:59over the weekend, or more in particular, on Saturday,
06:04the heavy rains brought by strong winds will continue in most of northern and central Luzon,
06:09so in the areas of Metro Manila and Baguio,
06:11let's hope for cloudy skies and heavy rains brought by northeastern monsoons.
06:17But in the Bicol region, in Legazpi City, and because it's in the shoreline,
06:21the convergence of hot and cold winds will continue
06:25and there will be strong clouds and heavy rains.
06:31Improving weather conditions are expected in most of northern and central Luzon,
06:34starting Sunday and Monday.
06:37So the fair weather conditions that we expect, if we will experience heavy rains,
06:41will be light rains or just thunderstorms.
06:44In the Visayas region, improving weather conditions that we expect over the weekend,
06:48in the cities of Metro Cebu, Iloilo City, and Tacloban City,
06:52this part of the region will continue to be cloudy,
06:54until the clouds subside,
06:56that will only be accompanied by sudden and quick rains brought by thunderstorms.
07:01And on Monday next week,
07:04because of the possible effects of the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ,
07:09we expect to experience high chances of clouds and heavy rains,
07:15thunderstorms, and lightning in a large part of Visayas.
07:20In the areas of Mindanao, for the next three days over the weekend,
07:23the clouds will continue to be light in a large part of Mindanao.
07:26Fair weather conditions, hot and cold,
07:29and there is still a chance of thunderstorms.
07:32But in the eastern section of Mindanao,
07:34more in particular in the areas of Caraga and Davao region,
07:38starting on Monday, because of the ITCZ,
07:41we also expect high chances of rain.
07:45We expect that these rains will last all day,
07:49but for that day, the rest of Mindanao, we expect fair weather.
07:54And the sunny day here in Manila will end later this afternoon at 5.58pm
08:00and will rise again tomorrow at 6.23am.
08:04And for more information on the weather,
