2025: The Year of Final Judgment – Doomsday Awaits! || Acharya Prashant (2024)
Video Information: 29.12.24, New Delhi
Description:
Acharya Ji declared 2025 as the most dangerous year in human history because the signs of climate change have now spiraled out of control. The Paris Agreement (2015) set targets to reduce carbon emissions by 45% by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050. However, instead of decreasing, emissions are continuously rising. Feedback cycles like Arctic ice melting, permafrost and peatland carbon/methane release, and forests turning into carbon sources are worsening the situation.
Due to global warming, the Earth's temperature is rising, increasing the risks of natural disasters and livelihood challenges. Both leaders and the public are ignoring this reality. Acharya Ji stated that the only solution lies in spirituality, where humans abandon self-interest and develop sensitivity towards nature and future generations. He emphasized that without courage and awareness, change is impossible.

00:00:00The way you're living, the way you're going about, it's very very dangerous for you, for
00:00:07your family, for those you love and even for those you don't know.
00:00:31So I want to understand from you that why 2025 will be dangerous for you.
00:00:35No leader is openly telling their country's people how close you are to destruction.
00:00:41No one is telling.
00:00:45From 2015 to 2025, extreme dishonesty and deceit has been done now.
00:00:50From 2025 to 2030, how will you manage magically?
00:00:54Maybe we will be the first species on earth who cause self-destruction.
00:01:00Now tell me, let's welcome 2025 with a swag.
00:01:30How will you manage?
00:01:34How will you manage?
00:01:37How will you manage?
00:01:40How will you manage?
00:01:43How will you manage?
00:01:46How will you manage?
00:01:49How will you manage?
00:01:52How will you manage?
00:01:55How will you manage?
00:01:58How will you manage?
00:02:01How will you manage?
00:02:04So first question, you had said at one place that 2025 is going to be a decisive year,
00:02:10going to be the most dangerous year.
00:02:12Dangerous, yes.
00:02:13So I want to understand from you that why you said this.
00:02:15Why is 2025 going to be dangerous for us?
00:02:19These people have come to say Happy New Year and right at the start, it's clear that 2025
00:02:26is going to be the most dangerous year so far.
00:02:32Scary New Year instead of Happy New Year.
00:02:40The reason isn't just sitting here in the next 1, 2 or 10 years.
00:02:54It's a very broad and long reason and its impact will be felt for centuries.
00:03:08There are some wounds that heal in a year or 4 years.
00:03:13We don't call those very dangerous injuries.
00:03:18But this is like a disease that they say can't be treated even in 100,000 years.
00:03:34They say even with centennial and millennial time scales, it won't be possible even in them.
00:03:42And the clock is ticking.
00:03:45We don't have much time.
00:03:47That's why I said, after much careful thought and responsibility,
00:03:52that this is the most dangerous new year in human history so far, 2025.
00:04:00There's the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
00:04:12In this, I'll tell you some things in between.
00:04:15Take whatever information that is relevant.
00:04:18That will help you understand the whole thing.
00:04:22So under this, people meet every year like how they had met in Baku.
00:04:31All countries have meetings there.
00:04:33It's called Conference of Parties, COP.
00:04:38So at the 15th COP in Paris, there was the Paris Agreement.
00:04:49And the Paris Agreement said in 2015 that the current carbon emissions levels
00:05:00need to be reduced by 45% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050.
00:05:14Why were these figures set?
00:05:16Why were those figures set?
00:05:21They were set because so that anyhow the need to keep the temperature,
00:05:32the global temperature rise, it needs to be brought down below 2 degrees Celsius.
00:05:40That was the goal.
00:05:43They said they want 1.5 degrees.
00:05:50But even if 1.5 isn't possible, the temperature rise shouldn't go above 2 degrees Celsius.
00:05:58We made this agreement in 2015 with 195 countries together.
00:06:04And everyone understood that stopping at 2 degrees was very important.
00:06:14So the goal was to stop temperature rise.
00:06:191.5 degrees was set as the target.
00:06:24And for that, the suggested path was to cut your emissions by almost half by 2030
00:06:37and reach net zero by 2050.
00:06:40What is net zero?
00:06:42It's when whatever you emit is naturally absorbed by ecosystems, right?
00:06:49So overall, there is no carbon addition to the atmosphere from human activity.
00:06:57That's net zero.
00:06:59They said net zero should happen by 2050.
00:07:03And by 2030, you should reduce about 45%.
00:07:10And for this, all countries had sat together and after long negotiations,
00:07:20they had set their NDCs respectively.
00:07:24What is NDC?
00:07:25Nationally Determined Contribution.
00:07:28So each country made its own goal that for how much they would reduce emissions.
00:07:36These goals were quite different for everyone
00:07:39because all countries have different economic backgrounds.
00:07:42Some are rich, some are poor, some have high emissions like India,
00:07:46but some have very low per capita emissions.
00:07:49So it was also decided that developed countries who historically emitted more emissions,
00:07:56money to developing countries, give economic help so that they can cut their emissions.
00:08:04Many things were discussed.
00:08:06But the essence of that was that emissions need to be reduced by 45% by 2030.
00:08:15They need to be cut.
00:08:18Okay.
00:08:19And for emissions reducing and progress on reducing these emissions,
00:08:24they said they would meet every year at COP.
00:08:27And every five years they would check that how much of your targets you have achieved.
00:08:35Hmm.
00:08:37And set targets for the next five years based on that.
00:08:40So targets were made in 2015 for 2020 and then in 2020 for 2025.
00:08:46So next year they will be budgeting again for who needs to go where.
00:08:50In 2025, we're all going to categorically set our emission target levels again globally.
00:09:02This is happening in 2025.
00:09:06So we had said that we'll by 2030 reduce 45%.
00:09:13We celebrated distribute suites.
00:09:16Now I'm asking you that 2024 has come.
00:09:2010 years will be completed in 2025.
00:09:26We had given ourselves 15 years between 2015 and 2030.
00:09:32We spent 10 years of that.
00:09:34And in this year, we're going to set our budgets again.
00:09:42And this will be all countries final national budget to reach 2030.
00:09:49So tell me where have we reached?
00:09:52We had to reduce by 45%.
00:09:55And our current curve, our trajectory,
00:09:58what is it saying about how much we have reduced or what we have done?
00:10:06What we have done is that all the indices set by all the countries worldwide,
00:10:14even if you follow them 100%, if you completely follow,
00:10:19that will only result in a 2% reduction in emissions.
00:10:24This is your best case scenario.
00:10:29And it's not like you're even achieving the targets you set.
00:10:35Paris Agreement said to do this much by 2030.
00:10:39Okay, this much needs to be done.
00:10:41That's an aggregate figure, right?
00:10:43Now this aggregate figure was divided among all countries, 194 countries and 195 European Union.
00:10:51They divided it among themselves, setting their own targets.
00:10:56These targets that were set, even if they are fully achieved,
00:11:03will only result in a 2.6% reduction in emissions, right?
00:11:11Even if it is fully achieved, then,
00:11:15and what do you think how much is actually being achieved?
00:11:21Most of the countries aren't even achieving half of their stipulated targets.
00:11:31And when we look at the target completion percentage,
00:11:35India is among the countries at the bottom.
00:11:38Though it's different that even if you achieve your set target NDC,
00:11:43how much total reduction will you achieve from it?
00:11:482%, when it needed to be 45%.
00:11:54And even if you achieve your set national target completely of carbon reduction,
00:12:01and even if you achieve it, then how much will you be able to do it?
00:12:052% and we are not even able to achieve this.
00:12:08The fact is, forget carbon emission reduction.
00:12:12Carbon emissions are increasing year by year.
00:12:17And how quickly we need to reduce them,
00:12:20understand this from the fact that we said
00:12:23that we need to almost half them by 2030.
00:12:28We were standing at an emergency, we knew this in 2015.
00:12:33We said reduce by half by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050.
00:12:40The first dishonesty was that,
00:12:43that after the agreement, when they came back,
00:12:46when each country returned and set their own different goals,
00:12:50so they cheated in the goals themselves.
00:12:53These goals were such that even if fully followed, nothing would be achieved.
00:12:56And even these minimal goals show no signs of being met at all.
00:13:05We need to reduce carbon emissions so quickly,
00:13:08even if you reduce a bit slower.
00:13:12Something very terrible will happen.
00:13:15We need to reduce so fast, if you reduce even at this fast pace.
00:13:20If the decreased slope is even slightly less,
00:13:24then it's still a kind of apocalypse.
00:13:27And he'll forget about how fast it's reducing, it's not reducing.
00:13:31It's increasing and increasing and increasing.
00:13:36If you look at the global temperature rise curve,
00:13:41it is increasing at an increasing rate.
00:13:44Not only is it increasing, when we mean to decrease,
00:13:48not only is it increasing, but it's accelerating.
00:13:52It's not just increasing, the rate of increase is also increasing.
00:14:00This is where we stand.
00:14:04Why did the Paris Agreement say to stop at 1.5 degrees?
00:14:10Why?
00:14:11Because something very special starts happening at 1.5 degrees,
00:14:15between 1.5 and 2 degrees.
00:14:18By the way, you must know that 1.5 degree,
00:14:21long-term goal we had set,
00:14:24wanting to stop global warming at 1.5 degrees forever by 2050.
00:14:29And after 2050, we broke that in 2024 itself.
00:14:34Did you get this news or not?
00:14:38We had said, 1.5 degrees is the maximum rise
00:14:43after which the term livable planet applies.
00:14:48After 1.5 degrees, the planet won't remain livable.
00:14:52Why it won't remain livable, we'll come to that very soon.
00:14:57But that long-term limit of 1.5 degrees we had set for ourselves,
00:15:02we had crossed that in 2024 itself.
00:15:05We've reached 1.54 degrees.
00:15:07The only thing is that, it won't be formally acknowledged yet.
00:15:11Because this data is just from 1 or 2 years, 2023 and 2024.
00:15:15It gets formally acknowledged in climate,
00:15:19when long-term trends are taken.
00:15:22So when it's seen for 10-20 years that it's constantly above 1.5 degrees,
00:15:26then it'll get official acknowledgement that yes,
00:15:29it's accepted that it has happened at 1.5 degrees.
00:15:34Everyone was clear that something very dangerous happens at 1.5 degrees.
00:15:39Very dangerous.
00:15:41There's a tipping point at 1.5 degrees.
00:15:45What happens at that point?
00:15:50Well, before I ask what happens,
00:15:52it's clear that the 1.5 degree matter is now far behind us.
00:15:56We can't stop it now.
00:15:58It's gone.
00:16:00We made a joke with ourselves in Paris.
00:16:04In Paris, we said we need to reduce emissions
00:16:0845% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050.
00:16:12That was a joke we made with ourselves.
00:16:15Forget reducing, we've increased it
00:16:18even more.
00:16:22This is becoming clear.
00:16:28What happens at 1.5 degrees?
00:16:34Between 1.5 and 2 degrees,
00:16:38feedback cycles become active,
00:16:40after which it's no longer in your hands
00:16:43to stop temperature rise in any way.
00:16:47You can't stop it now.
00:16:55Meteorology isn't an exact science.
00:17:00So we can't say that it'll happen exactly at 1.5 or at 1.62
00:17:05or that some cycles activate at 1.5 degrees
00:17:09while others at 1.8.
00:17:11But scientists believe that all these cycles,
00:17:15I've talked to you about them too,
00:17:17all these cycles begin to activate between
00:17:211.5 and 2 degrees.
00:17:23And these cycles are mutually reinforcing,
00:17:25meaning when one cycle starts,
00:17:27it causes another cycle to start just because of its activation.
00:17:31How do these cycles work?
00:17:33We'll understand.
00:17:34Some of these I've talked about many times,
00:17:36so you would know them.
00:17:38And some new ones I'll tell you today
00:17:41in the joy of new year.
00:17:46So first there's the ice,
00:17:51whether it's arctic or glacial ice,
00:17:55related to that.
00:17:59So ice is white in color, right?
00:18:04So when sunlight falls on it,
00:18:07when radiation hits it,
00:18:09then what will it do?
00:18:11It reflects it back.
00:18:13When it reflects back,
00:18:15then heat absorption doesn't happen.
00:18:17Right?
00:18:19So this work was done by the ice.
00:18:21But due to temperature rise,
00:18:25ice is melting.
00:18:27When ice melts,
00:18:29then what gets exposed from underneath?
00:18:33Rocks.
00:18:35Or sediments.
00:18:37Or it is sometimes soil.
00:18:39So these are what color?
00:18:41They are dark colored.
00:18:43When they are dark colored,
00:18:45then what do they do?
00:18:47They absorb radiation.
00:18:49And when they absorb,
00:18:51what will happen then?
00:18:53They'll get hot.
00:18:55When they get hot,
00:18:57then the ice above them or the ice beside them
00:18:59will melt more.
00:19:01When more ice melts,
00:19:03then more of this rocky dark matter,
00:19:05which is dark,
00:19:07it will be more exposed.
00:19:09And when it gets hotter,
00:19:11then more ice will melt.
00:19:13And when more ice melts,
00:19:15it will be more exposed.
00:19:17And when more exposed,
00:19:19it will get hotter.
00:19:21And when hotter,
00:19:23more ice will melt.
00:19:25And now you can't stop this.
00:19:27Now you can't stop this.
00:19:29Now this cycle has started.
00:19:31So that's it.
00:19:33Now you can't stop it.
00:19:35And how far it will go?
00:19:37You can't stop it.
00:19:39But the 6 degrees, 7 degrees, 8 degrees,
00:19:41who knows how far it can go.
00:19:43It's pointless to even talk
00:19:45because there won't be anyone left to talk to.
00:19:49We are very delicate people.
00:19:51Especially,
00:19:53our human species,
00:19:55homo sapiens,
00:19:57we can only live within a very narrow temperature range.
00:20:01We are not dependent on forests.
00:20:03We need to grow crops
00:20:05and our crops
00:20:07only grow in certain places.
00:20:09They demand certain types
00:20:11of rain.
00:20:13They demand certain types of temperatures.
00:20:15They also demand that
00:20:17if wind blows,
00:20:19how much it should blow,
00:20:21how much it shouldn't blow.
00:20:23If it rains, then in which season it should
00:20:25and which season it shouldn't.
00:20:27So humans are
00:20:29tremendously dependent
00:20:31on nature.
00:20:33This is a fact.
00:20:35And we have increased
00:20:37the population so much
00:20:39that feeding it
00:20:41is a
00:20:43very sensitive issue.
00:20:49So a lot, something
00:20:51will happen
00:20:53as soon as
00:20:55these cycles activate.
00:20:57That is better not to discuss it.
00:20:59And
00:21:01coming to cycles,
00:21:03there are many.
00:21:05We are talking about ice,
00:21:07so permafrost.
00:21:09So what is permafrost?
00:21:13Permafrost
00:21:15is in Siberia,
00:21:17Alaska, Canada.
00:21:19Is that rock
00:21:21or soil, these places
00:21:23which stays frozen continuously?
00:21:25Hmm?
00:21:27And when it stays frozen,
00:21:29then it holds within it
00:21:31a lot of
00:21:33carbon
00:21:35inside it,
00:21:37keeps it bound.
00:21:41How much carbon
00:21:43is in permafrost?
00:21:45As much carbon
00:21:47as is in earth's
00:21:49entire atmosphere times two.
00:21:51But this
00:21:53was sequestered
00:21:55until now,
00:21:57was bound, was locked.
00:21:59Why was it locked?
00:22:01Because ice was
00:22:03covering it.
00:22:05Ice was
00:22:07covering it.
00:22:09As ice keeps melting,
00:22:11this carbon
00:22:13is coming in,
00:22:15contact with
00:22:17oxygen
00:22:19and is getting released
00:22:21into the atmosphere.
00:22:25Becoming carbon dioxide.
00:22:29When oxygen
00:22:31needs organic matter,
00:22:33then still less damage happens
00:22:35from that only carbon dioxide
00:22:37form.
00:22:39But when that organic matter
00:22:41which is in soil, in rock,
00:22:43when it
00:22:45doesn't get enough oxygen,
00:22:47then its anaerobic oxidation
00:22:49happens.
00:22:51And then carbon dioxide doesn't form,
00:22:53then methane form.
00:22:55And methane's global
00:22:57warming potential is
00:22:5985 times that of
00:23:01carbon dioxide.
00:23:03Meaning the
00:23:05heat that 85 molecules
00:23:07of carbon dioxide
00:23:09would trap that much heat,
00:23:11one single molecule of methane
00:23:13traps.
00:23:15This
00:23:17thermal frost is
00:23:19melting.
00:23:21And it's melting very fast.
00:23:23And from its melting
00:23:25both carbon dioxide
00:23:27and methane are being
00:23:29released into the atmosphere.
00:23:35Understanding
00:23:37what I'm saying?
00:23:39And you can't
00:23:41stop this. Once it started melting,
00:23:43then what will it do?
00:23:45Methane.
00:23:47And as soon as methane goes into the
00:23:49atmosphere, what will it do?
00:23:51It will increase temperature more.
00:23:53When it increases temperature, then thermal frost
00:23:55will melt more. When it
00:23:57melts more, then what will go into the atmosphere?
00:23:59More methane. When that goes,
00:24:01then it'll increase temperature more. You can't stop
00:24:03this. Even if you do net zero,
00:24:05it won't stop.
00:24:07Now net zero means that
00:24:09from human activity, we won't add
00:24:11any additional carbon dioxide
00:24:13to the atmosphere. You would not do that.
00:24:15You may not add,
00:24:17but still this cycle has activated.
00:24:19So,
00:24:21now what's
00:24:23the use of regret? Now do whatever
00:24:25you want to do. Temperature,
00:24:27now this is called
00:24:29runaway climate
00:24:31change, which you can't stop.
00:24:33This is what the term
00:24:35carbon bomb is used for,
00:24:37which you can't stop.
00:24:39It has a chain reaction.
00:24:41Now that has started, so now it's happened.
00:24:43So you won't be able to stop it.
00:24:51Similarly, there are peatlands.
00:24:53What are
00:24:55peatlands and why are we talking about
00:24:57them? Because after
00:24:59permafrost, they have held
00:25:01the most carbon
00:25:03inside them, always.
00:25:05What kind of place is this? You know
00:25:07wetlands, right?
00:25:09What are wetlands?
00:25:13Flooded places, where water stays
00:25:15covering the ground or rocks
00:25:17or soil or organic matter, it
00:25:19stays almost always.
00:25:21Water stays covering there
00:25:23almost always.
00:25:25When water stays
00:25:27covering there almost always,
00:25:29then there's less oxygen, right?
00:25:31Organic matter is there
00:25:33and water is constantly covering it,
00:25:35like a wetland.
00:25:37So when water is covering, then the
00:25:39organic matter below won't get much oxygen
00:25:41or will it get it?
00:25:43It'll get very little whatever is
00:25:45dissolved in water.
00:25:47So its decay
00:25:49happens anabolically.
00:25:53A lot of methane
00:25:55gets stored there.
00:25:59How much methane
00:26:01do peatlands store?
00:26:03More than
00:26:05all the carbon dioxide
00:26:07that earth's forests store.
00:26:11That much carbon dioxide
00:26:13equivalent is stored in peatlands.
00:26:17And these
00:26:19peatlands,
00:26:21they
00:26:23are drying up.
00:26:29As earth keeps getting warmer,
00:26:31they are drying up.
00:26:33The reason for drying
00:26:35isn't just that earth is getting warmer,
00:26:37it's also that you go there and do urban
00:26:39development or the peat that's there.
00:26:41It has many uses
00:26:43in horticulture, in fuel,
00:26:45you extract that peat.
00:26:49These peatlands are drying up.
00:26:51So all the
00:26:53methane and carbon dioxide
00:26:55that was trapped under the water,
00:26:57now what's happening to it?
00:26:59It's getting exposed.
00:27:01Exposed to where it's going?
00:27:03It's going into the atmosphere.
00:27:05When it goes into the atmosphere then
00:27:07it's increasing temperature more.
00:27:09When it increases more then peatland is
00:27:11drying more.
00:27:13And from this
00:27:15permafrost and peatland
00:27:17so much carbon
00:27:19dioxide comes out
00:27:21that
00:27:23human activity could never even
00:27:25release that much. From human activity
00:27:27so much has come out that since
00:27:29human age from 1750 till now
00:27:31we've taken it from 280 ppm
00:27:33to about 430 ppm.
00:27:35This is our doing.
00:27:37But by doing this
00:27:39we've awakened
00:27:41such a demon
00:27:47that's releasing much more carbon
00:27:49into the atmosphere than
00:27:51our activity. This is a fact.
00:27:55And all this has started.
00:27:57But leaders
00:27:59aren't telling their people
00:28:01about this.
00:28:03This matter is being hidden from the people.
00:28:05Why is it being hidden?
00:28:07Because if you have to meet
00:28:09carbon emission targets
00:28:11then your concept of development
00:28:13and
00:28:15the kind of electoral
00:28:17dreams sold to people
00:28:19will have to be stopped.
00:28:21So no leader
00:28:23is openly telling their
00:28:25country's people how close you've
00:28:27come to doom. No one is
00:28:29telling.
00:28:31In America, leaders have
00:28:33even taken America
00:28:35out of the Paris
00:28:37agreement in 2020
00:28:39then brought it back in 2021.
00:28:41But they're still saying that
00:28:43no we don't believe climate change is anthropogenic.
00:28:47Where it has been accepted
00:28:49I told you that
00:28:51what national targets we've chosen for
00:28:53how childish they are.
00:28:55Like it's a joke.
00:28:57Even if you achieve those
00:28:59targets then what did we say?
00:29:01How much percentage reduction will happen?
00:29:032%. But how to do how much?
00:29:0545%.
00:29:09No leader, no politician
00:29:11is telling their country the truth.
00:29:13Because this truth
00:29:15is very very
00:29:17bitter. This truth will tell us that
00:29:19leave all other businesses.
00:29:21Leave all other priorities aside.
00:29:25Straight up it's a question of your existence
00:29:27especially if you're young now
00:29:29and you have children etc.
00:29:31Then you're leaving straight up hell's fire
00:29:33for your children.
00:29:35Today if your child
00:29:37gets a little sun or heat
00:29:39then you say
00:29:41oh what happened to my child?
00:29:43Power goes out,
00:29:45AC doesn't run, your child gets trouble
00:29:47and you're leaving straight up
00:29:49fire for your child.
00:29:51But this thing, no leader will tell.
00:29:53Media isn't covering it
00:29:55because covering it will mean
00:29:57an earthquake
00:29:59will come completely.
00:30:05So everyone is absolutely
00:30:07in a fool's paradise.
00:30:09Fool's paradise means
00:30:11foolish person who's thinking everything is fine.
00:30:15And he's just not foolish.
00:30:19He is dishonest.
00:30:21So dishonest that
00:30:23if someone comes and tells him the truth
00:30:25he'll reject the truth and will tear apart
00:30:27the true teller's face.
00:30:31This is happening in the whole world.
00:30:33In India too.
00:30:39We were
00:30:41talking about the feedback cycles.
00:30:43Coming to the oceans, there are 3 or 4
00:30:45types of feedback cycles
00:30:47that are directly related to the ocean.
00:30:51Starting right from the ocean surface
00:30:55when temperature increases
00:30:57then obviously
00:30:59more water
00:31:01will become vapour,
00:31:03evaporation
00:31:05and this water vapour itself
00:31:07is a tremendous
00:31:09greenhouse gas, right?
00:31:13You'll be surprised to know
00:31:15that more than half the world's
00:31:17greenhouse effect isn't from carbon dioxide
00:31:19but from water vapour.
00:31:23Because water vapour is present in atmosphere
00:31:25in abundance, 70% of a
00:31:27surface area is oceans, right?
00:31:31So there water vapour is very
00:31:33present and when temperature
00:31:35will increase then water vapour
00:31:37will also increase.
00:31:39More will vapourise, right?
00:31:41That will increase
00:31:43climate change more.
00:31:45When climate change increases
00:31:47then its vapourisation,
00:31:49evaporation will also increase.
00:31:51So vapour will increase, vapour increase
00:31:53then more heat will happen and more heat will happen
00:31:55then more vapour will be increased and
00:31:57all this is happening.
00:31:59This happens on the surface.
00:32:03Similarly,
00:32:05the ocean's carbon carrying capacity
00:32:07is inversely proportional
00:32:09to temperature.
00:32:11When temperature
00:32:13increases
00:32:15it becomes
00:32:17difficult for water to absorb
00:32:19carbon dioxide.
00:32:21So as our oceans
00:32:23get hotter
00:32:25the carbon sink work they used
00:32:27to do, there are two types of carbon sink
00:32:29in nature, the bigger ones
00:32:31one is ocean and second is
00:32:33forest.
00:32:35So our oceans which do the work
00:32:37of carbon sink, that work
00:32:39of theirs is getting weaker.
00:32:41Temperature will increase
00:32:43then their carbon dioxide concentration
00:32:45their carrying capacity keeps decreasing.
00:32:47They can absorb less carbon
00:32:49dioxide and water vapour
00:32:51forms more. Both ways you are done for.
00:32:55This was the activity
00:32:57on ocean's surface.
00:32:59We are talking about
00:33:01feedback cycles.
00:33:03Now you go a little down in the ocean.
00:33:05When you go down
00:33:09then you know corals right?
00:33:11Fossils that make reefs.
00:33:13Those beautiful beautiful whose pictures used to come.
00:33:15Earlier more beautiful, now comes that
00:33:17see that coral reef is destroyed.
00:33:21So
00:33:23these corals
00:33:25their activity
00:33:27starts becoming slow, weak
00:33:29with temperature increase because
00:33:31nature made them to work at a specific
00:33:33temperature.
00:33:37So all the
00:33:39organic work they had done from before
00:33:41that
00:33:43also starts breaking scattering.
00:33:45This oxidation starts happening
00:33:47and
00:33:49from that both carbon dioxide and methane
00:33:51both start generating.
00:33:53This happens in the middle of ocean.
00:33:57This is also a cycle.
00:33:59The more your ocean
00:34:01will keep getting hot, the more
00:34:03coral reef will keep getting
00:34:05destroyed and the more they'll get destroyed
00:34:07the more
00:34:09they'll keep emitting carbon.
00:34:13Now going down in the ocean.
00:34:15Methane
00:34:17hydrates lie at the ocean
00:34:19bottom.
00:34:21Our ocean floor
00:34:23has methane hydrates in it.
00:34:25And they stay
00:34:27stable at a temperature.
00:34:31Chemistry's simple formula
00:34:33is that
00:34:35every compound isn't stable at every
00:34:37temperature. Many are there that just
00:34:39heat them and they break. You know that right?
00:34:41So these methane
00:34:43hydrates, they lie at ocean
00:34:45floor, on ocean floor
00:34:47and there they are
00:34:49stable but as temperature is increasing
00:34:51they are breaking
00:34:53and they are releasing methane
00:34:55and that methane is reaching atmosphere.
00:34:5770%
00:34:59Earth's area
00:35:01which is
00:35:03surface area
00:35:05that is of oceans.
00:35:07So think how much area these
00:35:09hydrates are lying on.
00:35:13And from there what quantity
00:35:15of methane is coming out
00:35:17and all this is happening
00:35:19continuously now, happening continuously.
00:35:21Continuously.
00:35:27Understand what I am saying?
00:35:29Seems very distant.
00:35:33Ok. Ocean is distant.
00:35:35So this soil of ours, right?
00:35:37This soil also when it gets
00:35:39hot, then organic
00:35:41matter in it, its oxidation
00:35:43happens. This soil itself
00:35:45starts emitting carbon dioxide as
00:35:47temperature increases.
00:35:51Hmm?
00:35:53We talked about ice.
00:35:55We talked about ocean.
00:35:57We talked about
00:35:59soil.
00:36:01Now let's talk about forests.
00:36:03How these feedback cycles are activating
00:36:05in forest.
00:36:09A tree is there which absorbs carbon
00:36:11dioxide. This we all know.
00:36:13So if
00:36:15ecosystem is green, thriving,
00:36:17natural, healthy,
00:36:19then pulling's work happens.
00:36:21Keep absorbing carbon dioxide.
00:36:23This is called its sequestering.
00:36:25But see, that carbon dioxide
00:36:27which would have stayed in
00:36:29atmosphere could have been harmful.
00:36:31Tree made it what? Tree made it
00:36:33trunk, made it leaf, made it fruit,
00:36:35made it vegetable.
00:36:37So tree does big magic.
00:36:39It takes carbon dioxide
00:36:41and makes good things from it.
00:36:45But
00:36:47same tree, when it falls,
00:36:49then
00:36:51its organic material, that trunk,
00:36:53it will
00:36:55decompose.
00:36:57And when it decomposes, decomposition
00:36:59you all know is oxidation process.
00:37:01When it decomposes,
00:37:03then it will release carbon dioxide.
00:37:05Completely
00:37:07opposite will happen. Matter where
00:37:09it used to absorb carbon dioxide
00:37:11and now that carbon dioxide,
00:37:13it's emitting.
00:37:15Carbon sink, forest,
00:37:17it has become carbon source.
00:37:19In Amazon, in Congo basin
00:37:21and
00:37:23are
00:37:25South East
00:37:27Asia's tropical forest.
00:37:29This is happening.
00:37:31Where very
00:37:33big big areas are right now
00:37:35which have become net carbon
00:37:37sources.
00:37:39Meaning that forest being there, carbon is
00:37:41emitting more. Why?
00:37:43Forest fire came.
00:37:45You increase
00:37:47temperature so much in all
00:37:49world's countries
00:37:51in 2022, in 2023.
00:37:53What extent forest fires
00:37:55happened, that you all know right?
00:37:57When forest fire will happen, then what
00:37:59will happen?
00:38:01Everything will burn. When everything will burn
00:38:03then what will happen?
00:38:05Carbon dioxide will emit.
00:38:07Besides this,
00:38:09when
00:38:11heat increases in atmosphere
00:38:13then from that all types of
00:38:15extreme weather events will happen.
00:38:17Like more rain happen.
00:38:19More rain happen then
00:38:21what will happen to the tree?
00:38:23Will fall. When falls then
00:38:25will decompose. Tremendous storm
00:38:27came. Tremendous storm will come then what will happen
00:38:29to trees? Will fall.
00:38:31When fall, then will decompose.
00:38:33When fall, then will decompose.
00:38:37So same trees who had
00:38:39absorbed world's carbon inside them
00:38:41same trees
00:38:43we have created
00:38:45such environment, such weather for them
00:38:47that same trees opposite now are
00:38:49emitting carbon.
00:38:51Will live then absorb
00:38:53and will fall or burn.
00:38:55Then it will emit.
00:38:59And this is happening.
00:39:01The more you are increasing
00:39:03temperature, that many cyclones are increasing.
00:39:05Cyclones are increasing so what's happening to trees?
00:39:09They are falling.
00:39:11Besides this, as the
00:39:13weather changes
00:39:15like that
00:39:17for a tree to reach its full height
00:39:19becomes completely impossible.
00:39:21A tremendous kind of cyclone comes.
00:39:23Who knows how many trees will be uprooted.
00:39:27If the rain's
00:39:29whole pattern changes
00:39:31then from where will trees stand?
00:39:35Firstly, it won't stand.
00:39:37Means what absorbing work was carbon dioxide doing
00:39:39it won't stand.
00:39:41Secondly, as much as the trees left, even that won't remain.
00:39:43It will fall. When it fall, then it will emit more.
00:39:49And this I am not
00:39:53talking about anthropogenic emissions
00:39:55right now.
00:39:57I am not talking about that our energy
00:39:59and transport sector, how much carbon it emits.
00:40:01I am not talking about
00:40:03that our food industry and agriculture
00:40:05how much carbon they emit.
00:40:07I am talking about natural
00:40:09feedback cycles
00:40:11which aren't even anthropogenic.
00:40:13Which aren't
00:40:15even in a complete control.
00:40:17Means you completely become a saint.
00:40:21You say I have reformed. I have become a straight person.
00:40:23Now I won't emit any carbon.
00:40:25You may even do this.
00:40:27But still now matter isn't going to stop.
00:40:29Arrow has left.
00:40:37And this is when you become a saint.
00:40:39We have no preparation
00:40:41to become saint.
00:40:51Now tell
00:40:53tell
00:40:55Should we welcome with swag 2025?
00:41:03This year again all countries
00:41:05India too
00:41:07to deceive
00:41:09themselves will make new
00:41:11targets for 2030.
00:41:13How will you make them?
00:41:15From 2015 to 2025
00:41:19extreme level dishonesty and cunning
00:41:21Now 2025 to 2030
00:41:23how will you do the magic?
00:41:25Didn't do small work
00:41:27then how will you do the big work?
00:41:29This is almost like
00:41:31that a person had to
00:41:33walk 3 km in 3 days.
00:41:35Ok
00:41:37He is so lazy
00:41:39and cunning
00:41:41that in 2 days
00:41:43walked 50 m
00:41:45In 3 days
00:41:47how much he had to walk?
00:41:49Means 3000 m
00:41:51In 2 days he had walked 50 m
00:41:53and is saying no problem
00:41:55last day will walk 2950
00:41:57Can this happen?
00:41:59If you could walk that much
00:42:01then you would have walked something first 2 days.
00:42:03In 2025
00:42:05all countries together
00:42:07will again lie to each other
00:42:09and then sell.
00:42:11There is no way
00:42:13that in 2030
00:42:15even 1%
00:42:17reduction can happen
00:42:1945% is quite far
00:42:23Our carbon emission level
00:42:25is increasing every year
00:42:27The
00:42:29PPM, CO2 is there
00:42:31in atmosphere, we are adding to it
00:42:33every year, not reducing it.
00:42:39And nature has
00:42:41now taken matter
00:42:43in its own hands
00:42:45It's saying now I am watching
00:42:47Now feedback cycles
00:42:49are with nature, not with us
00:42:51and all these feedback cycles
00:42:53reinforce
00:42:55each other too
00:42:57For example, if permafrost is melting
00:42:59then ocean's
00:43:01vaporization is also increasing
00:43:03One cycle
00:43:05is reinforcing
00:43:07other cycle and among themselves
00:43:09all these are giving each other kind of
00:43:11surrounding effect
00:43:15And in this whole process
00:43:17what carbon dioxide we are adding
00:43:19that's separate
00:43:21What we are adding that's separate only
00:43:31Now
00:43:35inside earth
00:43:37very tremendous type of
00:43:39carbon is filled
00:43:41as much carbon as is on
00:43:43earth's surface
00:43:45and surface means
00:43:47not just where soil is, little depth
00:43:51Even till atmosphere
00:43:53in that it's a very
00:43:55small percentage
00:43:59This carbon that's filled in our atmosphere
00:44:01where did it come from?
00:44:03Did it come from Mars planet?
00:44:05Where did it come from?
00:44:07And we
00:44:09for fooling our greed
00:44:11keep digging earth in every way
00:44:13continuously
00:44:15every way
00:44:17It's earth's
00:44:19carbon only, it's this soil
00:44:21the rocks beneath it
00:44:23this carbon is only what's going up
00:44:25From beneath
00:44:27the ground methane and carbon dioxide
00:44:29can also come out
00:44:31or from below fuel, oil, gas
00:44:33can also come out which when you burn
00:44:35them then it becomes carbon dioxide
00:44:37but in atmosphere
00:44:39however much carbon dioxide is
00:44:41it came from earth only and from earth
00:44:43it didn't come by itself
00:44:45We took it out for our greed
00:44:47the earth which we keep digging in every way
00:44:49keep destroying and it's carbon
00:44:51that is coming here
00:44:57Human history's
00:44:5916
00:45:01consecutive 16 hottest months
00:45:03are happening now
00:45:05now in which
00:45:07last 16 months are right
00:45:09not 1 or 2
00:45:11in last 16 months
00:45:13in sequence, sequential human
00:45:15history's hottest months are
00:45:17going on
00:45:21Now we don't even need to think
00:45:23now we know next month will come
00:45:25it will be human history's hottest month
00:45:27and we know this too
00:45:29that it will be very cold month
00:45:31for example if you talk about
00:45:33January 2025
00:45:35it's going to be very hot
00:45:37like December is hot
00:45:39what this December is
00:45:41in this, what average temperature is
00:45:43that too is more
00:45:45and what average precipitation
00:45:47that too is very more
00:45:49neither does it rain in December
00:45:51nor environment stays so hot in December
00:45:53our industry's right
00:45:55woolen clothes sellers
00:45:57heater sellers
00:45:59all these are going in loss
00:46:03it's a very hot December
00:46:05and rain is also happening too
00:46:07umbrella ones are not understanding
00:46:09that why did we miss
00:46:11heater ones are saying
00:46:13we should come in umbrella business
00:46:15will that work
00:46:17heater ones are saying
00:46:19we should come in umbrella business
00:46:21will that work
00:46:23this which are decade is going on
00:46:25this is human history's
00:46:27till date hottest decade
00:46:33world meteorological
00:46:35activity
00:46:37on its home page
00:46:39ever since industrial activity started
00:46:41till today
00:46:43climate change curve is there
00:46:45we call that curve to everyone
00:46:49or anywhere else too
00:46:53that curve isn't that
00:46:55it's like that
00:46:57it's like this
00:47:09we call ourselves
00:47:11an intelligent species
00:47:13perhaps we'll be
00:47:15the first species
00:47:17on earth to self-destruct
00:47:23we say other species don't have
00:47:25intelligence, knowledge, consciousness
00:47:29let me tell you humans will be the first
00:47:31and only species on earth that
00:47:33has wiped itself
00:47:35out completely
00:47:39and still you'll find
00:47:41many smart alecs
00:47:43who'll say this is all hoax
00:47:45tell me where is the heat
00:47:47it's so cold
00:47:49if it's so hot why are you wearing this
00:47:51take it off
00:47:57when
00:47:59trump was the US president last time
00:48:01one day
00:48:03it was very cold
00:48:05it was very cold one day
00:48:07and he said where is climate change
00:48:09it's already so cold
00:48:11what global warming
00:48:13and there was a girl from
00:48:15north east India who said
00:48:17uncle first go to class 4
00:48:19and learn the difference
00:48:21between weather and climate
00:48:23you don't even know the definition
00:48:27it's not just one person
00:48:29by saying such things
00:48:31someone won the presidential election
00:48:33in the world's most developed country
00:48:36the dangerous thing is that
00:48:38to win elections you have to say such things
00:48:40the dangerous thing is that
00:48:42whoever is winning elections worldwide
00:48:44is winning by saying such thing
00:48:48for the last 6-7 years worldwide
00:48:50the right wing
00:48:52has been getting very strong
00:48:54worldwide and also the right wing
00:48:56either has an
00:48:58inferior stand on climate change
00:49:00or complete denial
00:49:02you understand climate denial right
00:49:04there is no such thing
00:49:06all the scientists are lying
00:49:10and the more leaders
00:49:12who say such things
00:49:14the more votes they get
00:49:24is there something like this
00:49:28while this slide is coming
00:49:30let me tell you something
00:49:32there are 4 and 5 curves
00:49:34that you can do as an activity for yourself
00:49:36human population growth
00:49:40concentration of atmospheric CO2
00:49:46global GDP growth
00:49:52global industrial production
00:50:02atmospheric temperature rise
00:50:08put these curves side by side
00:50:10and see what you find out
00:50:12when you look at all these curves
00:50:14side by side
00:50:16world GDP growth, world population growth
00:50:18and world's carbon dioxide temperature rise
00:50:20all these curves if you have a look
00:50:24from 1750 to 2020
00:50:26what will you see then
00:50:28all these curves are exactly the same
00:50:30completely identical
00:50:34the matter is very simple
00:50:36there are two things
00:50:38that are killing our planet
00:50:40our species
00:50:42all species
00:50:44first population and second is consumption
00:50:46population and consumption
00:50:50it's that straightforward
00:50:52it doesn't even need much science
00:50:56our species has
00:50:58increased its population
00:51:00more and more
00:51:02and consumed so much
00:51:04and destroyed everything
00:51:08obviously
00:51:10if there is still any solution possible
00:51:12to the extent that possibility remains
00:51:14otherwise when feedback cycles activate
00:51:16the possibility of survival starts decreasing
00:51:20if there is still any possibility of survival
00:51:22then it's only this
00:51:24reduce these two things
00:51:26population and consumption
00:51:30and population and consumption
00:51:32aren't two different things
00:51:34they both come from the same human tendency
00:51:36what? consume
00:51:38consume
00:51:40the basic
00:51:42ego
00:51:44which is deep ignorance
00:51:46is what makes us do both these things
00:51:48and therefore people who do these things do both things
00:51:50you won't find a person who is doing only one
00:51:52of these two things
00:51:54common people
00:51:56have both desires
00:51:58we should become many and we should consume a lot
00:52:00because both these desires
00:52:02are the same
00:52:04let me consume
00:52:06and let me consume
00:52:08from as many hands
00:52:10as many bodies
00:52:12as many mouths as possible
00:52:18the work your organization is doing
00:52:20is the solution
00:52:22the only solution
00:52:28and it becomes a very healthy situation
00:52:30when you know what the solution is
00:52:32but you have no way
00:52:34to execute
00:52:36that solution
00:52:38there is no way to execute it
00:52:40I have only one way
00:52:42that I am telling you repeatedly
00:52:44in as many ways as possible
00:52:46apart from that I have no say
00:52:48in policy making
00:52:53nor in your decisions
00:53:00this is it
00:53:02if we show from 1750 it will be more clearer
00:53:04but this is understandable right?
00:53:06this isn't 400ppm right now
00:53:08ok this is till 2018
00:53:10in 2018 it's 400ppm
00:53:12now it's 430ppm
00:53:16nature knows its work very well
00:53:18the curve is flat see
00:53:20since when is it flat
00:53:22who knows since when it's flat
00:53:24can you please show the x axis to the people
00:53:26how would they come to know otherwise
00:53:30yeah this is better
00:53:32this will work
00:53:34and this same curve
00:53:36is also the human population growth curve
00:53:38that means
00:53:40humans are born only to emit carbon
00:53:46there are some curves
00:53:48where earlier data isn't available
00:53:50but from where it's available see
00:53:52all curves
00:53:54look exactly the same
00:53:58the underlying
00:54:00philosophy in our lives
00:54:02is the cause of all
00:54:04these curves
00:54:06our underlying philosophy is
00:54:08don't know yourself
00:54:10go out and consume
00:54:12don't look at yourself
00:54:14keep consuming whatever is
00:54:16outside it has done this
00:54:18and
00:54:20world population
00:54:22and carbon dioxide the first two curves
00:54:24look at them carefully wasn't it fun
00:54:26they are
00:54:28exactly the same right
00:54:30ok people just ask
00:54:32how to reduce CO2 concentration
00:54:34here look at it
00:54:36this way similarly look at the
00:54:38powder loss curve and population
00:54:40curve and when I said if a child
00:54:42is born today
00:54:44it's
00:54:46born on the corpses of
00:54:48thousands and lakhs of plants
00:54:50and animals and trees
00:54:52and people felt very bad said why are you
00:54:54saying this if a child is born
00:54:56then will it cut lakhs of trees kill lakhs of animals
00:54:58look at the first curve and look at the last
00:55:00curve
00:55:02look at the first and last curve and
00:55:04tell me did I say wrong that if a child is
00:55:06born today it means one
00:55:08child's birth means you kill lakhs of
00:55:10animals and cut lakhs of trees
00:55:12did I say anything wrong
00:55:14look at the first and last curve
00:55:20you can add more curves to this
00:55:22material
00:55:24production
00:55:26how much
00:55:28industrial production we are doing annually
00:55:30that curve is also exactly like this
00:55:34the same ignorance
00:55:36tendency that compels us
00:55:38to produce more and more children that same
00:55:40tendency tells us that now
00:55:42consume too
00:55:44so more things should be there now
00:55:463-4 children are there
00:55:48so need to take a bigger house
00:55:50how will so many
00:55:52people travel in one scooter
00:55:54so need to take a car
00:55:56what we call
00:55:58family is a unit of society
00:56:00think with some patience
00:56:02family is the unit of consumption
00:56:04so
00:56:06our
00:56:08family and social system
00:56:10is made only so that we increase
00:56:12our numbers and in the name
00:56:14of prosperity
00:56:16destroy the earth even more
00:56:18this was what was going on
00:56:20it went for a long time
00:56:22it could go on till 1850
00:56:24it could go on till 1902
00:56:26now it cannot go
00:56:28so no one should argue that
00:56:30should we break the system that's been
00:56:32going on for thousands of years
00:56:34this wasn't happening for thousands of years
00:56:36what has happened has happened suddenly
00:56:38and very intensely
00:56:40so don't give thousands of years argument
00:56:42and cry about it
00:56:44today you need new ways of living
00:56:46if you want to live
00:56:48can't live in old ways
00:56:50old desires won't work
00:56:52now that why did education
00:56:54so that money comes
00:56:56so that I'll buy a house so that I'll do this
00:56:58do 50 things
00:57:00you have to cut forest
00:57:02you have to show man's conquest of nature
00:57:04and happy life means
00:57:06see I'm the world's richest man
00:57:08so I have 12 children
00:57:10...from 5 women
00:57:12you are
00:57:14animals from
00:57:162000 years ago
00:57:18they used to do all this
00:57:20any slightly aware person
00:57:22today will see this right
00:57:26all these are statistics
00:57:28statistics or am I just talking nonsense
00:57:32we can debate with them
00:57:38and you can stop me
00:57:40by debating
00:57:42the feedback
00:57:44cycles that have all activated
00:57:46will you stop them
00:57:48will you stop them
00:57:50we said
00:57:52forest is the biggest thing
00:57:54if we could show
00:57:56one more curve here
00:57:58that what
00:58:00percentage of earth's total area
00:58:02was covered by
00:58:04forest's area
00:58:06in 16th century
00:58:0817th century and present
00:58:10then you'll see something very tremendous
00:58:1250%
00:58:16for a very long time
00:58:1850% of earth's area
00:58:20was filled with forest
00:58:2250%
00:58:24now how much is it
00:58:2630%
00:58:28below 50%
00:58:30this earth can't run at all
00:58:32if you
00:58:34understand like that
00:58:36if humans don't misbehave
00:58:38then how much area on earth
00:58:40will have forest
00:58:44if you remove two areas
00:58:46two types of deserts are there
00:58:48one cold desert and one hot desert
00:58:50remove them then
00:58:52everywhere there will be only forest
00:58:54almost the whole
00:58:56earth will be forest
00:58:58even where it's coldest
00:59:00even there are tremendous
00:59:02forest, they are called boreal forest
00:59:04like siberian
00:59:06forest, coniferous forest
00:59:08all these are there
00:59:10there are forest even there
00:59:12before human misbehavior
00:59:14almost the whole earth was forest
00:59:16remove desert and areas
00:59:18completely covered with snow
00:59:20if you remove them
00:59:24by continuously reducing
00:59:26we brought it to 30%
00:59:28which is also government figure
00:59:30in this when you include quality of
00:59:32forest then it hits
00:59:34even harder
00:59:36governments
00:59:38somehow
00:59:40to get rid
00:59:42of responsibility
00:59:46somewhere where density
00:59:48is very
00:59:50less
00:59:52and what do they declare
00:59:54that this is forest
00:59:58somewhere
01:00:00uni or monoculture happened
01:00:02what do they say then
01:00:04that this is a forest
01:00:10if there is no forest
01:00:12then who will absorb carbon
01:00:14and forest can't be there
01:00:16for increasing population
01:00:18where will they live
01:00:20for them to eat
01:00:22there is need to
01:00:24grow food right
01:00:26from where fields will come
01:00:28only by cutting forest right
01:00:38and our forest cover
01:00:40is consistently decreasing
01:00:42every year
01:00:46total
01:00:484000 million
01:00:50hectares
01:00:52we have
01:00:54forest here in earth
01:00:58but just in the last
01:01:0010 years we removed
01:01:02500 from it
01:01:04we are in such
01:01:06hurry
01:01:08come on baby make it fast
01:01:10we are in a big
01:01:12hurry
01:01:14are you
01:01:16aware
01:01:18where the forest are cut
01:01:20most in poor countries
01:01:22like India
01:01:24between 2015
01:01:26to 2020
01:01:28among countries where
01:01:30most forest cover was removed
01:01:32one is India
01:01:34it wants development
01:01:36as fast as possible
01:01:38and which
01:01:40are the most well
01:01:42preserved forest
01:01:44your temperate
01:01:46forests of Europe etc
01:01:48and then your
01:01:50Siberian forest etc
01:01:52above right
01:01:54they are still
01:01:56saved
01:01:58where are most being cut
01:02:00in Brazil
01:02:02in Africa
01:02:04in India
01:02:06in Malaysia
01:02:08Indonesia
01:02:16one who became rich
01:02:18didn't become rich just like that
01:02:20he became rich only because he will enjoy
01:02:22do as he wishes, exploit others
01:02:24just like a rich man sits on top of a poor
01:02:26similarly a rich country
01:02:28will also sit on top of poor countries right
01:02:30so what's the solution
01:02:32until we don't change humans
01:02:34how can we change country
01:02:36can we change it
01:02:38if we don't change humans
01:02:40then how will policies change
01:02:42who will change the policies
01:02:44Vedanta asks right
01:02:46who is the doer
01:02:48without changing doer
01:02:50can the deed change
01:02:54so with you
01:02:56your organization
01:02:58is trying to change
01:03:00this doer
01:03:02actor continuously
01:03:04but it doesn't seem
01:03:06that our pace is adequate
01:03:08the scale at which
01:03:10this work should happen
01:03:12it's happening at a much smaller scale
01:03:14and time
01:03:16this 39 how did it stop your friend
01:03:18now this has reached 30 almost
01:03:20ok it's 2015
01:03:24it's falling like this
01:03:26now the population curve
01:03:28if you flip it
01:03:30and put on top of this
01:03:32then how will both become
01:03:34exactly same
01:03:36population increase
01:03:38poorest decrease
01:03:44let me give you a figure
01:03:46weak hearted don't listen
01:03:50or those who ate too much
01:03:52don't listen
01:03:54you'll throw up
01:03:58just in the last 50 years
01:04:00in totality
01:04:02whatever our wild population
01:04:04was inside forest
01:04:06we have finished it 75%
01:04:10meaning in forests
01:04:12worldwide total
01:04:14if there used to be
01:04:1640 animals birds
01:04:18then in just 50 years we made it to 10
01:04:20cleared 75%
01:04:28this is terrestrial
01:04:30those who live
01:04:32on land
01:04:34and when you talk about
01:04:36those who live under water
01:04:38cleared 85%
01:04:42nothing is surviving on this earth
01:04:44except us
01:04:46we are not leaving anyone at all
01:04:48absolutely no one is surviving
01:04:50just think 85%
01:04:52population decline
01:04:54human numbers keep increasing
01:04:56and other than just last 50 years
01:04:58we finished 85%
01:05:00they absolutely didn't survive
01:05:08and where will they survive
01:05:10they used to live here only
01:05:12they lived here only
01:05:14how will they survive
01:05:18Gita isn't here now
01:05:20because it will take you to heaven
01:05:22Gita is here because maybe
01:05:24it will save earth
01:05:26forget about heaven
01:05:28now if earth survives that itself is a big thing
01:05:36how will it stop
01:05:38what's the solution
01:05:40common man is the solution
01:05:42because countries in the world
01:05:44doing most emission
01:05:46they are all democratic
01:05:48G20 you know right
01:05:50G20
01:05:52they are responsible for 80-90%
01:05:54of world's carbon emissions
01:05:56and G20 is fully democratic
01:06:02what am i trying to say
01:06:04matter is in whose hands
01:06:06matter is in your hands
01:06:08but they are fooling you
01:06:10you being entangled in such issues
01:06:12which are completely fake
01:06:14don't talk about this
01:06:20the 6 countries in the world
01:06:22that emit the most
01:06:24US
01:06:26China
01:06:28India
01:06:30Russia
01:06:34European Union
01:06:36Brazil
01:06:38all of these are either democratic
01:06:40or at least semi democratic
01:06:44this isn't being done by one politician
01:06:46this is being done by public
01:06:48this we are making happen
01:06:52Acharya ji
01:06:54like how we organize book stalls
01:06:56in our cities
01:06:58now you have shown such a big issue
01:07:00but when we work on the ground
01:07:02you know this generation
01:07:04above us or even our generation
01:07:06is a bit unaware about things
01:07:08so how can we focus
01:07:10towards future generation
01:07:12because this generation
01:07:14isn't ready to change at all
01:07:16so they won't survive
01:07:18so how will they change
01:07:20so towards future
01:07:22we are outside the organization
01:07:24so while staying outside the organization
01:07:26how can we put our full effort
01:07:28what do you expect from us
01:07:30that you have told us this matter
01:07:32how should we spread this matter
01:07:34around us more forcefully
01:07:36meaning increase its rate much more
01:07:38look matter isn't so much about age
01:07:40it's possible
01:07:42that someone is 70 years old
01:07:44this issue is very straight forward
01:07:46there is no big complexity
01:07:48that someone should have studied engineering
01:07:50or maths or science
01:07:52or climate science
01:07:54to understand this
01:07:56there is nothing like that
01:07:58it's about intention
01:08:00and you know what's wrong with intention
01:08:02I'll do anything only when I get
01:08:04some benefit from it
01:08:06what will I get in this
01:08:08I'm 70 years old, I know I'll die in 5 years
01:08:10so if I cut my consumption
01:08:12then for whom
01:08:14suppose I'm saying I'm stopping my consumption
01:08:16for coming generations
01:08:18so I'll die, what will I get from them
01:08:20I gave them something
01:08:22what did I get in return
01:08:24matter is just this
01:08:28that's all
01:08:30these feelings
01:08:32that are inside humans
01:08:34that I
01:08:38am a human
01:08:42who is born to consume
01:08:46who separate from world
01:08:48can fulfill his self interest
01:08:52can find happiness by destroying others
01:08:54as long as this thing remains inside humans
01:08:56till then fighting it is very difficult
01:09:00look child if it could happen any other way
01:09:02I would have done it
01:09:04now I feel a little
01:09:06there is no way
01:09:08if it seems difficult to you
01:09:10then what to do
01:09:12no it's not difficult
01:09:14if challenge is difficult
01:09:16then ways will also be difficult right
01:09:18if ways were easy
01:09:20then I would have taken them first
01:09:22solution is only this that
01:09:24those who are understanding this matter a bit
01:09:26they have to leave their fears behind
01:09:28and just plan J
01:09:30you have to plan J
01:09:32you'll have to say this matter
01:09:34this is what I have already told on different occasions
01:09:36you know
01:09:40and all this is publicly available information
01:09:42you yourself should know what to do with this
01:09:44you just have to take printouts
01:09:46and then stick it somewhere
01:09:48or distribute
01:09:50what else to do
01:09:54you go to a book stall
01:09:56I understand that matter
01:09:58and from the tone of speaking
01:10:00I also understand that there is courage
01:10:02and that courage
01:10:04very few people have in our place
01:10:06our people are very scared
01:10:10it is like this
01:10:12like it is now
01:10:14that I am looking here
01:10:16and all are looking there
01:10:18not looking together in any direction
01:10:20I only understand now that you have to come out
01:10:22keeping life completely on palm
01:10:24leaving all beliefs behind
01:10:26it's not like that
01:10:28now we are very clever people right
01:10:30we think of ourselves
01:10:32as very smart people
01:10:34we say no no, don't take the risk of going 50-50
01:10:36we try to maintain both sides
01:10:38don't make anyone angry
01:10:44so nothing much
01:10:46can happen with that
01:10:50I personally
01:10:52console myself
01:10:54that I did the maximum that I could do
01:10:56right
01:10:58when I look here
01:11:00I also know that
01:11:08just explaining these figures to others
01:11:10won't help
01:11:12because even those figures
01:11:14who know about this
01:11:16even they haven't thought about changing their ways
01:11:18understand
01:11:20until you change a person's core
01:11:22until you change their center
01:11:24till then
01:11:26just have fun
01:11:28and even if they learn them
01:11:30they'll say so what
01:11:32what difference does it make to me
01:11:34just have fun
01:11:36right now
01:11:38this program of yours is going on
01:11:40in this look for how many people
01:11:42from the organization you can see
01:11:44it's an organization
01:11:46of 250 people
01:11:48where
01:11:50about half of the people
01:11:52would just do your counseling work
01:11:54out of those
01:11:56you can't even count a few
01:11:58look how many people are here
01:12:00just try to find your counselor see if you can find them
01:12:06forget that you are with us today
01:12:08it's the 29th
01:12:10even on the 29th
01:12:12the organization can't attend the session
01:12:14they all together are about 40% people
01:12:16who are still chasing them
01:12:18and getting after them
01:12:20calling them saying do enrollment
01:12:22this is how mission works
01:12:24think about it
01:12:26you are coming here from so far
01:12:28and those who are from here
01:12:30they don't have the opportunity to sit here in front
01:12:32I am talking about the organization's people
01:12:36we are still stuck on phones
01:12:38and what will happen with that
01:12:42it's a country of 150 crore people
01:12:44world of 850 crore people
01:12:46these few people of mine
01:12:48how many people can they connect with
01:12:52and if you connect with 10
01:12:54then one understands
01:12:56this is a very
01:12:58very small number that I am working with
01:13:00very small number
01:13:02and those who should be with me
01:13:04aren't with me they are a burden
01:13:06they are a challenge
01:13:10they are a very big burden
01:13:12we have to carry them every month
01:13:14and a lot of effort
01:13:16goes into taking them
01:13:18along with the organization
01:13:22there is only one way
01:13:28just as you understood
01:13:30someone else will understand the same way
01:13:32and if someone understands the same way
01:13:34as you understood through the same medium
01:13:36then you will have to bring them
01:13:38to where you are standing
01:13:40now you can think that
01:13:42I am speaking for my own benefit
01:13:44I want to build some grand house mansion
01:13:48or you can think
01:13:50you can think
01:13:52that this is the only solution that I can see
01:13:54you will have to use all your energy
01:13:56to bring people closer to the Gita
01:13:58you can't say that you are a customer
01:14:00and the organization is a shop
01:14:02you came bought something from here and then you left
01:14:04no no no
01:14:08if you are understanding what's being said
01:14:10then go
01:14:12and bring other people, catch them
01:14:14show them these sessions
01:14:16don't let them run away
01:14:20and there is no other way
01:14:24as long as
01:14:26only these few people are
01:14:28advocating the organization's mission
01:14:30then it would take a lot of time
01:14:32to complete the mission
01:14:34even these
01:14:36few people have to face a lot of opposition
01:14:38from you people only
01:14:40even they break and lose their hope
01:14:44if this number increases
01:14:46then their strength to face
01:14:48opposition also increases
01:14:52right now they see that
01:14:54it's us versus the world
01:14:58it's the 150 of us
01:15:00versus the entire world
01:15:02and the entire world includes
01:15:04the Gita community also
01:15:06most of the troubles come from
01:15:08them only
01:15:10in my view
01:15:12there is no way other than this
01:15:14it's possible
01:15:16it's possible that I am misunderstanding
01:15:18absolutely possible
01:15:20but as much as I understood this issue
01:15:22I am telling you very surface level things
01:15:26as much as can be explained in an hour
01:15:28but going deep into this
01:15:30and looking at how many ways work is happening in the world
01:15:32to see if maybe there is a solution
01:15:34possible somewhere, there is no solution anywhere
01:15:36there is a startup right now
01:15:38who are saying that they will decarbonize
01:15:40the atmosphere
01:15:42I read about it in detail
01:15:44and found out that what they are doing
01:15:46is completely fake work, nothing is going to happen with this
01:15:48they will just collect funds
01:15:50and fool a lot of people
01:15:52and many such things are happening
01:15:54some will file technological solutions
01:15:56some will do something else
01:16:00the only solution that I could see
01:16:02that works is working
01:16:04and we have proof of concept
01:16:08if I take those people who are
01:16:10truly connected with me
01:16:12then their per capita emission
01:16:14then all those works
01:16:16that cause harm to the earth
01:16:18reduced by at least 70-80%
01:16:20so I have proof of concept too
01:16:24whoever comes to Gita
01:16:26becomes a blessing for this planet
01:16:28and for all species
01:16:30I know this
01:16:34and I know this, this is proven
01:16:36constantly proven
01:16:38but that number
01:16:40is very small
01:16:42all problems are because of the numbers
01:16:44the numbers, the numbers
01:16:46the resources and the numbers
01:16:48everything is getting stuck there
01:16:52those who know
01:16:54the organization
01:16:56don't hesitate at all to say
01:16:58that your organization
01:17:00is doing the world's most necessary work
01:17:02right now
01:17:04and maybe we are alone
01:17:06alone
01:17:08who are doing that work in such a way
01:17:10that success is coming
01:17:12but this necessary work
01:17:14is happening on a very small scale
01:17:16because some people say
01:17:18that the responsibilities of the organization
01:17:20not us, don't know whether you consider yourself
01:17:22organization's customer or what you consider yourself as
01:17:26don't do it in the name of the organization
01:17:28do it for yourself
01:17:30but do it
01:17:32want to say
01:17:345-6 lines
01:17:40even today
01:17:42my heart is beating the same way
01:17:44I don't know why
01:17:46lost wondering
01:17:48fear now
01:17:50doesn't knock at the door
01:17:52lost wondering
01:17:54fear now
01:17:56doesn't knock at the door
01:17:58it's fun my
01:18:00lover stays
01:18:02in my embrace
01:18:04it's fun my lover stays
01:18:06in my embrace no more
01:18:08don't play
01:18:10games of cheese and
01:18:12catch anymore
01:18:14the world and soul
01:18:16are one
01:18:18so now spread this light
01:18:20true happiness can't be described
01:18:22it's deep within
01:18:24courage
01:18:26and love tied together
01:18:28Guru's mantra
01:18:30lit this lamp
01:18:32courage and love
01:18:34tied together
01:18:36Guru's mantra lit this lamp
01:18:38so you have a saying that
01:18:40where there is love there is courage
01:18:42these 5-6 lines
01:18:44came to my mind about that
01:18:54greetings Acharyaji
01:18:56my name is Shabnam
01:18:58I know
01:19:02what you have said about fighting
01:19:04I have done that
01:19:06right now
01:19:08I am a mother of
01:19:102 children
01:19:124 children have been separated from me
01:19:14I am not even allowed to talk to them
01:19:16I have been in Noida since last April
01:19:18and I see that you don't wear anything
01:19:20I had 1 or 2 gold items
01:19:22which I sold and paid for PG
01:19:24and I am listening to you
01:19:26your teachings have supported me a lot
01:19:28I don't have much education
01:19:30nor was I strong
01:19:32but coming here listening to you
01:19:34I am gaining strength
01:19:36and you have taught
01:19:38that strength is beauty
01:19:40so that's all
01:19:42there was no question answer
01:19:44just wanted to tell you my story
01:19:46greetings
01:19:484 years ago
01:19:50I used to sell
01:19:52duck chicken eggs
01:19:54now I sell your book
01:19:56and sell it everyday sir
01:20:02Acharyaji
01:20:04I just wanted to say
01:20:06one thing that
01:20:08when I was 21 years old
01:20:10meaning 2-3 years ago
01:20:12my father was sick for about 3 years
01:20:14and he passed away
01:20:16after that
01:20:18there was no financial support at home
01:20:20so I always felt
01:20:22heartbroken
01:20:24wondering why this happened to me
01:20:26meaning I have friends around me
01:20:28this didn't happen with them
01:20:30why did this happen to me
01:20:32why do I have to do this
01:20:34meaning that agony and loneliness
01:20:36that father is not there
01:20:38every morning waking up with the thought
01:20:40that my father is not there
01:20:42and why am I facing all these difficulties
01:20:44I was connected to Gita sessions for 8 months
01:20:46now the absence of father is
01:20:48slowly reducing
01:20:50feels like yes
01:20:52now the decision making in life
01:20:54that I should learn from someone elder
01:20:56I don't think that
01:20:58anyone has taught me better than you
01:21:00so today
01:21:02my mother
01:21:04asks me daily
01:21:06that when is your Gita session exam
01:21:08and I tell to my mother
01:21:10that my percentile was this and this
01:21:12so she says tell me
01:21:14how much percentage you are getting
01:21:16forget about percentile
01:21:18I would like to thank you Acharyaji
01:21:22tell mother Acharyaji said
01:21:24Namaste
01:21:26Acharyaji Namaste
01:21:28I am Ram Sharma
