Breaking (not breakdancing!) just made its debut at the 2024 Paris #Olympics. 🥇 However you feel about breaking as a sport—or about the *interesting* viral videos that have been making the rounds—here’s what it was really like to attend the big event in person.

Would you bring breaking back for the LA 2028 Games?

00:00So what was it really like watching this event's debut at the Olympics?
00:03I'm Chris, a travel reporter, and I attended the first ever Olympics event for breaking.
00:08You probably know it as breakdancing. While certain performances may have raised the Internet's collective eyebrow,
00:14I can say that seeing it alive in the heart of Paris was pretty special.
00:20Those are the MCs who hyped everyone up. Born on the streets of the Bronx more than 50 years ago,
00:24the first competitive circuit for breaking was actually centered in Europe.
00:28Dancers have thousands of moves to choose from, and the round-robin style challenges are decided on by nine judges.
00:34There's even two live DJs dishing out tracks in the back.
00:37So is breaking an art form or a sport? It's debated all you want,
00:40but for fans hoping to catch the event in four years, bad news.
00:43It hasn't been included in the initial programming for the 2028 LA Games.
