00:00Hello there, a very good evening to you. Hope you've had a lovely weekend. For some of us,
00:05we were lucky enough to see some sunshine over the past couple of days. We had this
00:09wonderful shot sent in to us first thing on Sunday morning from Budleigh Salterton in
00:13Devon. Skies though have not been quite as inviting everywhere. Some of us have certainly
00:19been plagued with cloud, quite gloomy and damp in many places. And this theme is set
00:25to continue for many of us over the coming few days. This cloud is continuing to spread
00:29its way in from the North Sea, will be providing outbreaks of rain for England and Wales. That
00:34could be wintry over the Chilterns and the Downs tonight. Further showers for northeastern
00:38areas of Scotland and England. Again, wintry over the hills, but it'll be the northwest
00:42where we see some clearer skies overnight, but that will allow temperatures to drop down
00:47quite a bit. So minus five, minus six degrees Celsius is possible in some rural areas. Some
00:52freezing fog patches developing here as well. Where you hold on to the cloud though, you'll
00:56avoid the worst of the frost temperatures more around three to four degrees Celsius.
01:01So still chilly to kick off the new working week. There may be some very localised icy
01:05stretches in places where we do see those showers continuing and they really will continue
01:09to feed in from the North Sea right throughout the day. So a fairly dull and damp day to
01:14come for many of us. Those will be falling again as snow over the hills, particularly
01:18the Pennines, we could see several centimetres building up during the day. It is always going
01:22to be northwestern Scotland that sees the best of the sunshine during Monday. But for
01:27most of us, it is going to be very cold, five, six degrees Celsius on the thermometer at
01:32least. But we have to factor in the strength of that easterly wind that's coming in from
01:36the North Sea. That is going to make it feel quite bitter out there. It's going to feel
01:42more like freezing for the vast majority of us. So certainly the thick coats will be needed
01:46if you are out and about at all during Monday. This cold theme is set to continue into
01:52Tuesday as well. The area of high pressure that has sat itself across Scandinavia is
01:57blocking any of this mild air from the south from really getting much into the UK. With
02:02that easterly wind still persisting into Tuesday as well, it's again going to be another cold
02:06day for all of us. That bringing a further cloud for most of us, further showers again
02:11wintry over the hills. We could see some longer spells of rain just circling around the southeast
02:15and then also into the far southwest, the Isles of Scilly, later on into the afternoon.
02:20It's always going to be parts of western Scotland, maybe areas of northwest England, Cumbria
02:24and the Lake District, just holding out some sunshine at least in there. Temperatures still
02:29struggling 5-6 degrees Celsius for most of us. Again, it's going to be cold with that
02:34wind chill factor added on top. The high pressure that's situated across Scandinavia is looking
02:41like it really wants to root itself there for a good portion of this forthcoming week.
02:46So this sort of scenario is something that we're going to have to get used to. It is
02:49looking largely cloudy with western regions the greatest chance of seeing some brightness
02:53or sunshine poking through at times. But that cold theme really is going to continue for
02:58most of us. We'll have plenty more updates on what you can expect during the forthcoming
03:02week of course across all of our social media channels as well as on YouTube. So subscribe
03:06for those. Otherwise, enjoy the rest of your evening. We'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
