00:00I think I do languages, so I do a Japanese degree and I think it would be hard for me to sort of get a job in like a Japanese environment without knowing the language first hand.
00:10100% hands-on experience compares way more because I'm applying to jobs right now as well and the main thing, their value is for sure experience.
00:19Though academic experience does have value, but I think in practicality, unless you're not in like STEM subjects, I feel like hands-on experience really does matter because that's why shadowing is a thing.
00:33That's why it's easier to understand because when you go to a job and you already know what to do, they really do value that way more.
00:39A lot of people find it easy to get jobs, like grad jobs and things like STEM, finance and like economics, these kinds of subjects.
00:49Then I feel like it's better for you to do those as university courses, although some places offer apprenticeships in those areas as well, but I feel like uni is probably the better way to go.
