00:00Good morning to all. This is the latest weather update for the day of Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
00:09At the moment, we are not being watched by LPA or typhoons inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility,
00:17even though we can still expect the rainy season in a large part of our country.
00:22This is due to the weather systems that are continuously affecting our rivers.
00:27These typhoons that we are witnessing in our latest satellite animation,
00:31which are continuously affecting parts of the Southern Luzon and Kabisayaan,
00:36are due to the effect of the shear line or the cold and hot winds.
00:41And because of the effect of the shear line,
00:43we will still experience moderate to heavy rains in parts of Kabisayaan as well as in the Southern Luzon today.
00:51Meanwhile, here in Luzon,
00:53there is a continuous shear line of cold and hot winds or North-East Monsoon,
00:56and this will also result in heavy rains in a large part of the Northern and Central Luzon
01:01as well as in some parts of the Southern Luzon today.
01:05There is also a part of Mindanao,
01:07where we can also see these typhoons that are mostly affecting the eastern sections of the Mindanao area.
01:15Those are the easterlies or the hot winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
01:20So we expect that within the day,
01:22we will still experience heavy rains in the easterlies of the Mindanao area.
01:27Meanwhile, for the rest of Mindanao,
01:29there are only isolated or sudden rains.
01:35And for the next few days,
01:36we expect that the effect of the shear line will continue in the easterlies of Luzon over the next few days.
01:43But we expect that the effect of the shear line will slowly weaken.
01:48Before the end of the week,
01:49we expect that the weather conditions will improve in a large part of our country.
01:55This will be possible on Thursday.
01:59Let's talk about the weather conditions today in Luzon,
02:02as we mentioned earlier,
02:04a part of Luzon will still experience heavy rains that will affect the easterlies as well as the shear line.
02:11There are parts of the Northern and Central Luzon and some parts of the Southern Luzon,
02:15particularly in Cagayan Valley,
02:17Cordillera Administrative Region,
02:19Central Luzon, Metro Manila,
02:22and Scalabar Zone,
02:23we expect light to moderate rainfalls that will affect the easterlies.
02:29Meanwhile, in Aurora, Quezon, Mimaropa, and Bicol Region,
02:36it is still possible to experience moderate to heavy rainfalls that will affect the shear line.
02:43Be careful, especially in Quezon and Bicol Region,
02:46as well as in the provinces,
02:48it is still possible to experience heavy rainfalls that will affect the shear line
02:54and possibly flooding and landslides,
02:58especially since in the past few days,
03:00the effects of the shear line have continued.
03:04Especially in Bicol Region,
03:06be careful, especially in the low-lying or hazard-prone areas.
03:14In Ilocos Region,
03:16we will experience cloudy to cloudy skies
03:20and there are chances of floods or sudden rains.
03:26Temperature forecast for the neighboring cities in Luzon,
03:30in Luzon,
03:31for Lawag,
03:32it will be 22 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:36For Tuguegarao,
03:37maximum temperature will be 28 degrees Celsius.
03:40In Baguio,
03:41it will be 15 to 24.
03:43For Metro Manila,
03:4430 degrees Celsius maximum temperature
03:46is expected to be experienced today.
03:50In Legazpi,
03:51the maximum temperature will be 24 to 26 degrees Celsius.
03:56For Tagaytay,
03:57the maximum temperature will be 20 to 28 degrees Celsius.
04:02The weather will change in many parts of the country.
04:06For Palawan and Visayas,
04:08we expect scattered rains or thunderstorms
04:11to affect the shear line.
04:14So, be careful, fellow citizens.
04:16For Palawan area,
04:17we expect that heavy rainfall will gradually decrease.
04:22It will still rain,
04:23but not as much as the previous days.
04:28For the eastern sections of Mindanao,
04:30due to the effect of the easterly,
04:32we will experience scattered rains,
04:35thunderstorms,
04:36and lightning.
04:37For the rest of Mindanao,
04:39we expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies.
04:42There are chances of sudden rains or thunderstorms
04:47due to isolated thunderstorms
04:49that are more common in the afternoon or night.
04:53For the surrounding cities,
04:56for Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao area,
04:59the maximum temperature for Palawan,
05:01particularly in Kalayaan Islands,
05:03will reach 29 degrees Celsius
05:05and 30 degrees Celsius for Puerto Princesa.
05:09Temperature in Iloilo is 24 to 31,
05:13Cebu is 25 to 30,
05:15and Tacloban will reach 28 degrees Celsius.
05:20For Mindanao, Zamboanga will reach 24 to 34 degrees Celsius,
05:2630 degrees Celsius for Cagayan de Oro,
05:29and Davao will reach 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
05:35According to our latest weather advisory,
05:38we expect that the effect of the shear line will continue,
05:42especially in the eastern sections of Luzon in the coming days.
05:46Today, we still expect moderate to heavy rains
05:49in the Bicol region,
05:51as well as in Quezon and the provinces of Maropa and Visayas.
05:56But when tomorrow comes,
05:58the axis of the shear line will gradually increase.
06:01It is possible that the effect of the shear line
06:05in the Bicol region will gradually decrease
06:07and affect the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon.
06:11So tomorrow, we may experience moderate to heavy rains
06:16in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Marines Norte.
06:22So be careful, our fellow countrymen,
06:25because it is possible that floods or landslides will occur,
06:28especially in hazard-prone or low-lying areas.
06:33As for the condition of our ocean,
06:35we still have a gale warning in the coastal areas of Catanduanes,
06:40particularly in the northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes.
06:44For now, we still expect a high tide
06:48in the so-called coastal areas,
06:50but the effect of the wind will gradually decrease.
06:54So it is possible that within the day,
06:56we will lift the gale warnings
06:59in the coastal areas of our country.
07:02For now, it is still dangerous to sail
07:05in the coastal areas of Catanduanes,
07:07especially for our fellow countrymen
07:09who have small marine vehicles.
07:12Our sunrise this morning is 6.22 a.m.
07:15and our sunset is 5.59 p.m.
