00:00This year's theme is hop culture, so we've teamed up with the Middle East Film and Comic
00:25Con to bring this to you specially, and we've recruited about 40 local artists, and we've
00:31given them a mega each to customize for the show, and what we hope to get out of it is
00:34basically get awareness of the designer toy world out, as well as prepare people for the
00:39Comic Con that's coming up.
00:55I did Zatanna Zatara of Justice League, she's also known as Robin's love interest in this
01:10story. It actually took me about two weeks to finish this. I actually used clay, and a whole
01:16bunch of other materials like fabric, I think just basically pieces from all around, because I
01:21really like incorporating all types of materials.
01:24My piece is Predator, it's made out of two parts epoxy, I used acrylic paint, the base is made
01:46out of MDF. It took me five days to make this one.
01:49My piece is called Harlem Against the Shake, or actually a better name would be Harlem Before
02:06the Shake. This is actually Louis Jordan, famous jazz musician. This piece took me around two
02:12days to finish. I just used permanent marker and then sprayed it with like a semi-gloss to finish
02:16off. This is my mega here, called Mad Mega, it's based on the Mad Magazine. This was my biggest
02:39inspiration growing up. With the theme being pop culture, I decided to go ahead and make a Mad
02:43Mega. It's actually Alfred E. Newman, he's on the front cover of all the magazines. It's a standard
02:47mega, which has been basically customised with air hardened clay, and then sanded, flattened,
02:52hand painted in acrylic, and then basically sprayed with a matte finish to finish it off.
