00:00It's Valentine's so that must mean love, jazz and die hard. We'll explain all in your
00:11weekly route with tabloids. Happy Valentine's Day everyone. If you're a fan of the slushy
00:15stuff we hope you had a wonderful day. If not, can we recommend skipping the rom-coms
00:20and heading to the cinema for the timely release of the fifth Die Hard movie, A Good Day to
00:24Die Hard. Questionable title aside, it sees the return of Bruce Willis as iconic cop John
00:29McClane as he teams up with, you better believe it, his son in a nuclear caper in Moscow.
00:35The reviews aren't that hot, but it's probably as far away from the lovey-dovey stuff as
00:38you can get. The romantic among you have plenty of musical options however, with ballad crooner
00:42David Pomeranz in town or perhaps tabla maestro Zakir Hussain. Or our top choice, tonight's
00:47concert by One Republic kicking off the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival. Support for the
00:52US band at Festival Park comes from Chuck Globe and Guy Manoukian. Tomorrow there's
00:56rock band Three Doors Down and plenty more jazz artists throughout the week. It's the
01:00last weekend to catch a show by the incredible Cirque du Soleil at World Trade Centre. If
01:04you haven't seen Dralian yet, make sure you grab a ticket. Keep your eyes peeled for the
01:08cast of British TV show The Only Way is Essex, who are to film part of their movie in Dubai.
01:13We predict a run on self-tanner and acrylic nails, so stock up now. Also coming to the
01:17Emirates are Noel Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft and David Guetta for a new series of concerts
01:21at Atlantis. Guns and Roses in Abu Dhabi and opera star Andrea Bocelli, who headlines the
01:26Do World Music Festival. Danish soft rock band Michael learns to rock play Dubai in
01:31April too. All details of where and when are at gulfnews.com slash tabloid. Internationally
01:36there was bad news for Lady Gaga, who has cancelled all her tour dates for the foreseeable
01:39future as she undergoes hip surgery. Get well soon Mama Monster. Let's not forget it was
01:44also Grammys week, with music's best picking up awards and the worst behaved getting their
01:48annual chance to throw their toys out of the crib. Award for the most immature attitude
01:53went to Chris Brown, who insisted on sitting down during a standing ovation received by
01:57his rival Frank Ocean. Ocean won Best Urban Contemporary Album, beating Brown. Seems fair
02:02enough as Brown beat Ocean up a few weeks before. We were glad to see that Adele, who
02:07picked up one award, gave Brown a good telling off later in the evening. Other winners were
02:12Fun and Gotye, taking the Please Please Stop Playing That Song award for We Are Young and
02:17Somebody I Used To Know. Correction, they won Song of the Year and Record of the Year
02:23respectively. My bad. Another award show, another win for Ben Affleck and Argo. The
02:27BAFTAs put a nail in the coffin for the film's award underdog story by naming it Best Picture
02:32again. Anyone else bored by hearing another Affleck speech? Good thing he won't be winning
02:37at the Oscars. At least there was something else to talk about at the BAFTAs, namely Helen
02:41Mirren's pink hair. No, we don't know why and we don't even know if we like it. But
02:45there it is. Snow and ice isn't exactly stiletto weather, but don't think New York's fashionistas
02:50didn't try. They've been traipsing around the city in their finest to attend New York
02:54Fashion Week's hottest shows, including one very highly rated collection by Victoria Beckham.
02:59She's left Posh Spice way behind and is now a bonafide designer, it would appear. Disgraced
03:04designer John Galliano is also in New York working with Oscar de la Renta, but disappointed
03:08fashion watchers when he didn't put in an appearance at that show. Now over to Manju
03:12for this week's Bollywood News.
03:42Legendary Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar has spoken out about sexual abuse she suffered
03:46as a child. In a video to support a global campaign to end violence against women called
03:511 Billion Rising, she said the abuse had been by a man her parents trusted. In the video,
03:56Shankar appealed for people to support the campaign in memory of the 23-year-old Delhi
04:00gang-rape victim. Vivek Oberoi told Tabloid this week that fatherhood is the most incredible
04:06feeling on this earth. The moment you cut that umbilical cord, your life changes forever.
04:11Once they place your baby wrapped in that towel in your arms, that moment is etched
04:15in your memory forever. He just owned my soul. In cinemas, Vivek Oberoi plays a lovable thug
04:21in Jayanta Bai Ki Love Story, who falls in love with a sophisticated IT professional.
04:26If impossible love stories aren't your thing, actor Randeep Hooda explores the murky side
04:30of love in Murder 3. And that's your weekly wrap.
