00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office. A lot
00:04of cloud through the next few days, some brighter moments, a few drizzly showers coming through
00:09and that's in fact how we see this evening. The wind's coming in from a cold North Sea.
00:15High pressure still sits towards the North there and any weather fronts just trying to
00:20push in will be stalled because the air is cold and dense. Now this easterly wind is
00:25delivering some light and fleeting showers but they could turn wintry over the Pennines
00:30as well as the Southern Uplands. At the same time, some clearer skies across Western Scotland,
00:35the greatest chance here of perhaps even seeing the Northern Lights. Now further south we
00:40could see some mist and fog patches as we start the day on Wednesday. So a frosty morning
00:45towards the North West, murky for many, that easterly wind still biting along that east
00:50coast, not as strong as the last few days though and there is a lot of cloud to start
00:54the day. Some drizzly showers continue through the morning, particularly across eastern counties.
01:00Further west the clouds could break for West Wales. Central and Southern England seeing
01:04perhaps one or two fleeting and brighter moments. Some brighter skies though for the North West
01:09of Scotland, that's where the highest temperatures will be and it's dry here. Those little showers
01:15there, never really amounting to very much, will continue through the afternoon, fairly
01:19scattered though. A lot of cloud generally for Northern Ireland and again, quite a breeze
01:23coming through. Temperatures struggling below average for this time of year. Now through
01:28Wednesday evening and overnight, yet again a frost for some where we see starry skies.
01:33More rain just encroaches across Northern Ireland, clips the west of Wales. Clearer
01:37skies though for the North West of England, South West Scotland as we start the day. So
01:41temperatures could be slightly lower and generally speaking there will be a lot of cloud. Drier
01:46for many, a few light drizzly showers towards the east but at the same time, cloud and rain
01:51just encroaches across the far west. In fact, that's how we see Friday as well. The wind
01:55changes direction so we lose that easterly breeze which is good news. Always a lot of
02:00cloud though into Friday and yet again we will see some rain, particularly this time
02:04across more western areas. Temperatures still struggling under that cloud, 5 or 6 degrees
02:09Celsius. Wherever you are, take care. I'll see you again soon.
