00:12Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain agreed late last night to reinstate their ambassadors
00:17to Qatar, signaling an end to an eight-month rift over Doha's support for Islamist groups.
00:23Gulf state leaders agreed in the summit in Riyadh to end the diplomatic dispute and hold
00:27the regular Gulf Cooperation Council summit in Doha next month.
00:31The UAE welcomed turning over a new leaf in relations between the six members of the GCC,
00:36saying it looked forward to participating in the Doha summit.
00:39The UAE said in a statement it was pleased at the success of the Riyadh summit last night,

00:59Dutch authorities say that they have found a highly contagious strain of bird flu at
01:03a poultry farm in central Netherlands, and said about destroying 150,000 chickens.
01:09The strain, H5N8, has never been detected in humans, but an outbreak in South Korea
01:14meant millions of farm birds had to be slaughtered to contain it.
01:18Meanwhile, Britain has reported an outbreak of bird flu at a duck breeding farm in northern
01:22England, but said that the risk to public health was very low.
01:26A restriction zone has been set up around the farm, and culling has begun.
01:31The Big Five, a regional building construction show, opens in Dubai today amid the Emirates
01:36real estate bounce-back.
01:37The Dubai government has announced a series of multi-billion dirham projects, including
01:42the 25 billion dirhams Mall of the World project and the 32 billion dirham expansion of Al
01:48Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central.
01:51In its 35th edition, the exhibit runs from November 17 to 20 at the Dubai World Trade
01:57Center, with more than 2,700 exhibitors from 60 countries expected.
